Nice! I've always been interested in the Persona series but I haven't played any of the games because I don't own a console. So I'm looking forward to this :D
Anime adaptation of PS2 RPG to retain game's voice actors.
The fourth Persona title, a spin-off from the Megami Tensei role-playing game series, was a breakthrough cult hit among RPG enthusiasts both in Western markets and in Japan because of its story and social link mechanics. The fact that Japanese production company Aniplex announced that an anime of Persona 4 is in the works (via their new website) should therefore be good news for fans of the series.
The show will be directed by Seiji Kishi, who has directed My Bride Is a Mermaid and Angel Beats! The soundtrack for the anime will be composed by Shoji Meguro, who was responsible for the music of the Persona RPG series.
The original Japanese voice actors from the game will reprise their roles for the series, which include Showtaro Morikubo (Yosuke Hanamura), Yui Horie (Chie Satonaka), and Ami Koshimizu (Yukiko Amagi). The main character, who players can assign a custom name to in the game, will officially be named Yu Narukami and will be voiced by Daisuke Namikawa.
The last anime based on the Persona series was Persona--Trinity Soul, which took place 10 years after the events of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3. The official air date of the anime has yet to be announced.
Actually, Come to think of it. Even though I'm a little iffy on the Persona 4 thing because I already played out the mystery plot multiple times, another Shin Megami Tensei game might be cool. For example a Devil Surviver anime would be more interesting for me simply because the story would be explored better using anime than the character images displayed in the game. I could really get behind that idea.
... Man, I haven't played P4 in a loong time. It's gonna be interesting how the anime adaptation turns out.
hmmm...somehow watching only one stand of a story from a game I already played through multiple times makes me less likely to watch this if it's ever available on hulu. But hey, I'm a fan of the games so maybe if I'm bored enough I get around to it. More than anything though I want a kick a$$ Persona 5, preferably with new PS3 graphics.
I just finished my copy for Persona 4 as well. This should be interesting to say the least. I hope they stay as true as they can with the anime. But there are bound to be changes..
Wow this is weird, the game came out how long ago and they are just NOW starting work on an anime adaptation?
Cool, I enjoy animes, but I would prefer it if they would just remake for the NPG or 3DS. With added features like what they did with Persona 3 Portable.
also surprised they were able to get the va's back. its quite a feat to make something like this almost 4 years after the game came out. same thing happend with tales of abyss
the main character from persona 4 is called seta souji as he was called in the manga why change his name for the series still watch it loved trinity soul
I started playing Persona 4 a few days ago, enjoying it alot. The story seems great to make an anime with, I hope it works out.
I haven't played my copy of Persona 4 yet but I'm interested in this. Didn't even know there was an anime for 3 either, which I've yet to play as well.
