No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise slashes US on August 16

High-def, Move-compatible redux of 2008 Wii cult classic will arrive in North America in midsummer.

Today, Europe will literally be able to take an HD whack at No More Heroes on the PlayStation 3, thanks to the release of No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise. However, Konami has confirmed that the North American market will have to wait a while before it gets its collective hands on the PlayStation Move-compatible remake of the 2008 Wii cult classic--until August 16, to be exact.

Developed by AQ Interactive and directed by Killer 7 creator Suda-51, No More Heroes presents a hyperstylized and violent world of fanboy fantasies. The game's protagonist, Travis Touchdown, is tasked with ascending the ranks of an assassin's guild by murdering all of his competition. In addition to becoming the world's greatest assassin, Travis hopes his efforts will win the affections of his beautiful and mysterious benefactor.

Along with a unique visual style, the game features motion-sensing controls to slash with Touchdown's Jedi-esque lightsaber or perform pro wrestling moves on foes. Whereas these controls were handled by the Wii Remote in Nintendo's version of the game, Heroes Paradise will make use of Sony's Move motion-controller setup.

Move controls aren't the only addition made by AQ. The studio has also added more boss characters to the game, as well as tweaked the artificial intelligence of No More Heroes' enemies. Players will also be able to face off against previously defeated bosses in the newly added Rebout mode. Lastly, Viewer mode lets gamers watch the game's cutscenes without playing through the game. GameSpot's latest preview has more information.

Finally No More Heroes will get the appreication it deserves. I wish the series would stay Wii-exclusive but at least now it's out for a more appropriate system.

This game's a joke. "Travis Touchdown" is a goof, you run really slow and you can barely turn on your bike. The PS3 version probably fixed all the problems though.

so first they copy the Wii remote and now they're going to remake Wii games with it? just wow.

Few people are going to buy this I bet. Whoever was really interested got a Wii and played it on that system.

This is stupid, US and EU version getting out for PS3, while the xbox version is going to stay in japan... what are they thinking? there will be more profit if they release the xbox version in EU and US, because there are many xbox useres around the world and not so many in Japan.....

They could have just release both No More Heroes 1 & 2 HD on PS3 in one package for $30. I mean God of War 1 & 2 got HD released a while ago and those were PS2 level games in one, NMH1 & 2 should get the same treatment, not an individual release like this. This feels more like a ripoff. A Wii game on PS3 for $40 just for better graphics or buy a used copy of both NMH1 & 2 for that same price on Wii?

i hope they release it for the 360 also considering its been out in japan for the last year. i could care less for kinect support.

I love the Wii version but our version had that black pixie dust and I'm glad I now own the PS3 version with the blood effects. Even if you have had the Wii version it's still great to pick it up on the PS3 and it's great that this version has some extra boss fights.

Even though I'm kind of an MS fanboy on paper, this game wouldn't work on Kinect and hope they never port it. Kinect is a waste and id much rather play this on PS3. Either way. They could have easily put both games on the same Bluray.

Personally, I think this should be a collection of both games, in HD/move compatible.

Id rather they put NMH 1 and NMH 2 on the same disc, especially if they are going to charge 60 dollars for a game thats like 10 bux on the Wii now . And the sequal is like 40 now. Just give me both. Blu Ray can handle it.

This should be interesting. I loved the first game, so it should be interesting to see how the PS3/360 versions will do. Doesn't matter cause the Wii version will forever be the better one.

This game was soo badass on wii! I can't wait to play it on the PS3. The graphics look soo much crisper than the original, the visusal style will practically pop off the screen in true HD resolution. Trophy support and a buttery smooth framerate... count me in!
