Xbox 360 version of upcoming action game taps into Microsoft's second-screen app; demo coming to PS3 and Xbox 360.
The Xbox 360 version of Ninja Gaiden 3: Razer's Edge will support Microsoft's SmartGlass software, Tecmo Koei announced today. Gamers can download the SmartGlass app for their smartphone or tablet and check personal scores and even watch strategy videos based on their in-game location.
In addition, gamers will be able to upload, view, and comment on Ninja Gaiden 3: Razer's Edge videos through the SmartGlass app.
Tecmo Koei also announced today that a "full featured" demo for Ninja Gaiden 3: Razer's Edge will be made available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 ahead of the game's launch on April 2.
This demo will feature stages for Hayabusa and Ayane. Additionally, karma and ninja skills acquired in the demo can be transferred to the full version at launch.
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razer's Edge was previously a Wii U exclusive.
The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions include a host of features and enhancements over Ninja Gaiden 3, which launched last March behind a tepid critical reception. These include additional playable characters, a new gameplay mode, a redesigned battle system, and "expanded online features."
All previous paid downloadable content from Ninja Gaiden 3 will be available in Razor's Edge from the get-go. In addition, players can take part in multiplayer clan battles, which support up to eight players and feature five new stages.

Hi, Mr. Miyamoto! I would very much like there to be a BATEN KAITOS 3!! and to have it set years after the first one - Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean!
YES!!! Game comes out April 2nd...already listed on Amazon. I knew they wouldn't leave us hanging like that.
"smartphone / tablet and check personal scores and even watch strategy videos..."
stupid waste of time.
Hmmm, I wonder if the game is going to be better in terms of gameplay and content????, did not get it last year because it sucked, tried the demo and said what did they do to ninja gaiden!!!!!!! Whatched the review and confirmed what I felt?..
will try the next demo and see how it improved
DAMN it. I totally thought of Google Glass when I read this and genuinely got excited for the future of console gaming.. sadly I read it wrong and it was microsoft's SmartGlass.
Smartglass is a massive gimmick if I've ever seen one. It's fun to use with Internet Explorer and to use for typing, that's about it. It's a chatpad replacement.
so the 360 version will be the same as the Wii U version then
still should have called the PS3 version Ninja Gaiden Sigma 3 though.
Add all the forgettable features you want Tecmo Koei (you'll probably be able to use Smart Glass to make Ayane's breasts bounce this time....Brazzer's Edge). If it doesn't have fluid, responsive, challenging combat that requires skill and reflexes to succeed, then I will continue not caring.
Wow, I can understand screwing up the spelling of "Razor" once, but to keep doing it? This website's credibility is already in the toilet due to the lack of newsworthy articles, let's not further destroy it with spelling errors.
Does anyone really care? What kind of hardcore gamer (if you're playing Ninja Gaiden, you must be harcore) gives a flying crap about SmartGlass. Real gamers don't want all of that garbage... just a good controller.
See, Tecmo sucks so much these days that they have to keep pulling off their own Street Fighters with Ninja Gaiden. These things should have been in the original release in the first place, not gimped out to force people to pay for DLC they never asked for.
Being a bad game also does not help. Tecmo is being led by poor management these days under Koei. Sayonara Tecmo.

This will be a test if smartglass is actually worth it. Ms will be able to detrimine how many people use the second screen tablet feature.
Pff I only use Smartglass to type fast when I'm searching the marketplace cuz I don't have a USB keyboard or a 360 chatpad.
People comparing NG to MGR make me laugh. Both are great, but NG's Dragon Sword has more depth than all of MGR.
Sorry but Metal Gear Rising is were it's at in terms of a good Hack N Slash Ninja game I had fun playing again in again but Ninja Gaiden 3 does not have Blade Mode so no buy.
After MGR, my need for ninja action has been satisfied for a while. If I do pick this up, it wont be until it's 20. Unless MGR 2 is announced by then...In which case, I'll just hold out for that.
How the hell will SmartGlass support work? I can understand the Wii U pad since it has buttons and analog sticks.
I was wondering when someone was going to actually make use of SmartGlass.
I had the feeling I downloaded it for no reason. I may still be right. It's not as fully fleshed out as the glossy presentation would have us believe.
@PixelAddict What? You mean you don't like impressing your friends by controlling your Xbox through the magic of your phone? I thought that was the only reason for SmartGlass. Lol.
Ninja Gaiden, NG Black and NG 2 were all excellent. Does anyone care about this colossal piece of garbage named Nina Gaiden 3? It doesn't matter how they alter it, the game is terrible.
@gatsbythepig agreed what they did was shameful and obliterated the series in one swoop.... i will never ever buy a ninja gaiden game unless they switch the developers
