New Wii U update may take an hour
"System stability" update for Nintendo's new system also makes "other minor adjustments"; Nintendo Direct presentation scheduled for 9 a.m. PDT.
Nintendo has released a new Wii U firmware update that may take as long as an hour to download. The latest update, according to Joystiq, adds "further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience."
According to Nintendo's Wii U support page for the update, the download may take "an hour or more" depending on users' Internet connection speed. Additionally, the company stressed that users should not unplug their system while the update is downloading, as doing so may "damage" the console in some way.
The update's exact purpose is unknown, though Nintendo is expected to reveal new Wii U information today during a Nintendo Direct presentation scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. PDT.
This is not the first Wii U update. It follows a hefty day-one download that Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said he is "very sorry" was necessary.
