Star Wars needs a halo style fps franchise in the Star Wars universe, new gen rogue squadron, a republic commando sequel and of course battlefront 3. Any more Lego sw games and I will stab someone.
New Star Wars game coming to E3
LucasArts to offer first look at new project May 31 on Spike, with gameplay debut slated for June 4 during annual Los Angeles tradeshow.
Gamers eager to learn where the next chapter in the Star Wars game saga will take them are less than two weeks away from finding out. Spike TV and LucasArts announced today that a new Star Wars game franchise will be unveiled on May 31, with a gameplay reveal following on June 4.
The new mystery project will have its coming-out party on Thursday, May 31, during Spike's Game Trailers TV show.
No further details are available. Earlier this month, Lucasfilm filed a trademark application and registered domain names for Star Wars 1313, spiking speculation that this is the name of a new game in the Star Wars franchise.
The latest entry in the Star Wars franchise was Kinect Star Wars, which was released in April and received a chilly reception by critics. That game is set primarily during the time of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, with overlapping bits of the other prequel trilogy films and nods to the original Star Wars trilogy as well.

Mmmmmm if its more shallow than Unleashed they can keep it...also I would kill for Jedi knight done Deus ex HR style only twice as long!
I think the game will be called "Star Wars: 1313" and that you play as a bounty hunter in the criminal underworld of Coruscant. Just a guess though.

1 Like I wish LA would make more games that didn't revolve around Star Wars. Not to say that there haven't been good Star Wars games but their was a time when Lucas Arts made games like Grim Fandango and Monkey Island. I'm not saying to stop making Star Wars games or to make all your games like Grimm Fandango and Monkey Island but do something different at least. Its getting old.
1 Like @vault-boy Reboots to both of those would actually be impossible. The creators to both games now work at Double Fire Productions, who have no relation to LucasArts except for the fact that the company is mostly comprised of people who used to work there. However, some new series may be nice, as long as it doesn't involve dancing in front of the Kinect.
Republic Commando 2 or something COMPLETELY NEW! A new SW: Bounty Hunter game on the other hand could be something awesome, if done by the right studio. Can't wait for tonite's reveal.
Battlefront was predominantly a multiplayer game on a format where online multiplayer was getting started. The potential on an established online format, such as Xbox Live, is immense. Imagine a COD style Create-a-Class in Battlefront with perks, killstreaks (including AT-AT walkers, Millennium Falcon) and customizable Jedi's!
2 Like @SuperPaperDario NO. Just... no.I do not want a new battlefront to be like CoD at ALL. I want it to remain to its routes: class-based gameplay where the team as a whole has to work together to win. Killstreaks would just negate this all together, and the upgraded weapon thingy in the second game is as much as I'll deal with. CoD can be CoD, and Battlefront can stay Battlefront.
@1337deadpool I was just thinking of a way to make the game new and not exactly the same as the last one with hd graphics, and Im not taking about the gameplay being like Cod coz that wud be shi- poo! Many games have some class customisation in their multiplayer and bringing some of that to star wars would be cool! But it all looks irrelevant now with last nights announcement!!

2 Like How about this.... Star Wars Battlefront 3: The Old Republic or Star Wars Empire at War: The Old Republic; using that story line you could certainly produce more games, Maybe? Or you could just continue where Empire at War: Forces of Corruption left off, return of Silri and the army she found in that cave. Im personally hoping for Battlefront 3.

1 Like Star Wars Battlefront, in my opinion, and maybe yours, too, is the greatest franchise in Star Wars history! Better than the other games in Star Wars history. If Lucasarts is planning a new franchise other than Battlefront, GOOD LUCK!!

BATTLEFRONT 3! Atleast I seriously hope it is. I still play 2 and the series is in serious need a shiny new game. Its not like the previous ones didn't earn a sequel, they were good ass games.
@CeasdRedemption For Diablo 3 it took 10 or 11 years so hope KOTOR 3 doesn't intend to beat this record...if it does expect Blizzard to release Warcraft 4 in 2023 at 20 years after Warcraft 3

1 Like "new franchise" = NO SEQUEL! It's not that complicated! True many of LA's IP's are worthy and indeed overdue for a sequel, but sadly that is clearly not the context of this announcement. Having said that, Sith Assassins Creed anyone? Open Galaxy assassinations?.......

well the new franchise concept is as much speculation as the rest of the article, all we can really be certain of is that there is going to be a new game. Let me dream about a new battlefront, even if it is likely that this new title has nothing to do with that series. We'll all know what it's going to be when they decide it's time to tell us. For now, let our minds ponder the posibility for the long overdue sequels to our favorite titles.
2 Like For companies that base everything off sells of the game, you would think that as much of the request for Battlefronts 3 has gotten it would have already been made. I have money. I would gladly hand it over to you for that game.
What we need is a sequel to Rebel Squadron. I will love that game for eternity. Especially all the ships you could fly: X-Wing, Y-Wing, A-Wing, V-Wing, Naboo Fighter, Tie Fighter, Millenium Falcon; that game was boss.
@Venatorcruiser a tall order non the less though i think maybe next gen machine could pull it off, i have this vision of optimizing your ships flight path through atmospheric conditions while you enter the planet. i mean its only like flying your chopper out of the gta game up in to space and on to the next planet ?? i know the game engine will have constraints, but with the tech of today im sure someone can do it. Im ean the next gta is apparently huuuge!! :)
@Cappuccin0 hahaha !! i was thinking maybe it is a little optimistic, though gran turismo took years to come on the ps3. i don't think its in Lucas's "persona" of games, be awesome though.
I'm not sure that another Battlefront is needed. It would be great to get something new and fresh, but most importantly it should be high quality game that also fans can enjoy not only 8yr olds. It should be based on original trilogy and should look also like original trilogy (only with modern lightsaber fights and so on). It would be enough for me for next 2 decades.
@Venatorcruiser awesome idea, exactly what i had in mind!!! you could travel from planet to planet and have each "area" like gta as cities of each. With huge galactic battles along the way. :)

No doubt about that, especially since microsoft and sony have both already released news that they've made serious progress to the next gen consoles anyway. maybe these kinds of ideas aren't so far fetched afterall, just a little ways off from the time being.
@itchyflop actually I was being a little sarcastic back there. A game with those characteristics would take an eternity to develop and a huge load of resources as well.... but maybe Lucas could pull it off. Maybe.
from the title "(year?)SW 1313" it might be sett in the New Sith War timeline http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline_of_galactic_history or during the aftermath of The Great Hyperspace War http://www.swtor.com/holonet/galactic-historymight even be a new chapter in the SW saga, but i find that unlikely sense there is no new lore that far ahead in time yet.
first one is more likely sense it uses the official SW timeline BBY (Before Battle of Yavin(original movies)) and the 2nd one uses SWTOR's timelinge (Before Treaty of Corrosant). TGHW was in like 5000BBY
