New Paper Mario, Children of Mana get dates
[UPDATE] Nintendo sets release days for Super Paper Mario, Children of Mana, Clubhouse Games; trio of games coming this October.
Gamers are often filled in on the "what" before they are on the "when." Announcements of titles can come stacked with screenshots, a trailer, and gameplay details, giving people a great idea of what the game is about. But when gamers want to know when they can get the game, they're often met with "sometime next year," "winter 2006," or an equally vague date.
Today, Nintendo nailed down a few release dates for some upcoming games, giving fans a chance to get a head start on their holiday shopping lists.
The biggest game of the bunch is the new version of Paper Mario, which slyly snuck into Nintendo's E3 press materials but didn't make a personal appearance at the show. Super Paper Mario for the GameCube is now set for release on October 9, slightly earlier than most expected as details on the game are still slim. The game brings the series into another dimension, fusing the familiar 2D gaming with some 3D graphics. More information on the game is available at GameSpot's preview.
Many Square Enix fans have been racking their brains trying to figure out whether or not to import the Japanese version of Children of Mana for the DS, which was released in March. If said gamers can wait until late October, they can get the US version and skip those Japanese language classes. Children of Mana will be released on October 30, the same day as Pokemon Ranger: The Road to Diamond and Pearl. [UPDATE] Nintendo has since changed Pokemon Ranger's date from October 30 to "TBD." However, the company's Web site still listed the game's release date as October 30 as of press time.
Finally, Clubhouse Games from developer Agenda will be released on October 9. The DS title is a collection of 20 board, card, and party games including Texas Hold 'Em Poker, Darts, and Checkers, and features an in-game PictoChat-like feature for trash talking without making a sound.

I'm not bothered reallt Mario has..is.. and always will be a platformer, even SSB you could almost class as a platforming Beat Em Up' it's where the little guy belongs.
In case some didn't know, Super Paper Mario won't follow the RPG tradition of previous Paper Mario games, such as 'Paper Mario' for the N64 and 'Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door' for the GC. Read again: Super Paper Mario will NOT be an RPG. It's gonna be a platformer, probably along the lines of...Mario games, you know. So, not an RPG, and a damn shame if you ask me.
I cannot believe Nintendo cancelled Super Paper Mario for the cube. Those asholes. Nintendo, you might think that i'll just go ahead and buy a damn Wii to play that game, but think again! I'll be happy beating Giest and playing the GAMECUBE version of LoZ TP. The gamecubes life is over, i'm just in denial.
besides this news post, this game has completely vanished from the GC section and is only in the Wii section....
Many areas can now be explored because of the Wii's capabilities, i look forward to playing it
Paper mario will sell even more when the Wii comes out aswell, too bad i haven't played any of them yet.

This is great news. Too bad they couldn't have released more games like this sooner into the GC's lifespan though! Gamecube's library is about equal to the Dreamcast's library, and that system wasn't around for nearly as long...

Nintendo is jus filnishing off well and then it is gonna kill ps3. I look forward to have a wii in addition to my 360
i think gc deserves to go out with a bang....it deserves a lot more credit than it got....i'm really look forward to owning the wii Wii60 is my next gen combo of choice!!!!

I wish Nintendo would realese somthing rather like call of duty or medal of honor.
But this is good for nintendo, well when i hear nintendo i think of the mario bros, I never really had a problem with their games, i just never got into them... i like games with a bit more violence, nintendos games are games that you should play when you want to relax or something like that I never too much struggled with their games, but super smash bros whooo i played the crap out of that game, that is and always will be one of my fav games....thanks nintendo this should really help nintendo... i know that alot of people love paper mario.

Children of Mana is just a great US release, I think the Mana series has enough fanfare to justify releasing it here. It's a great franchise and the DS title looks quite polished!
