@da_chub dont forget casino royal movie was a remake from the orginal one that flopped years ago and since Ian Fleming write all the james bond books. never say never was a remake of thunderball. and dan craig did remake of casino royal. QoS was getting alot in neck becouse it was new and wasnt a book writting by Ian Fleming. and thus bond 23 also will be another out in the sea like QoS so i belive they even with blood stone game look in water of the creative mind behind the books and try and throw that into QoS blood stone, and this new bond 23 since its a great risk compared to the other films witch were based of the books.
Deadline reports fresh British superspy title given the go-ahead alongside Sam Mendes' Bond 23; film due out November 9, 2012.
Yesterday Bond fans eager for the next film installment got what they wanted when it was reported that Bond 23--the tentative title of the newest film--would debut late next year. Sam Mendes will direct, Daniel Craig will be back as Bond, and the flick was given a November 9, 2012, premiere date. However, the film isn't the only Bond property that received the go-ahead.
Hollywood blog Deadline also reported that another James Bond video game has been green-lit. The report did not state if the title will follow the narrative of the film, which development studio will handle work on it, or when it will be released.
One potential developer for the new Bond game is Wisconsin-based Raven Software. Early last month the development house was rumored to be developing a stealth action Bond title, which it reportedly resumed work on following a federal bankruptcy court's decision that allowed the newest film to begin preproduction. It's also possible that the "new" Bond game and the stealth action game are one and the same.
Virtual James Bond had a busy 2010, as James Bond 007: Blood Stone was released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, and GoldenEye 007 landed exclusively on the Wii in the latter half of the year. Blood Stone was not tied to a James Bond film narratively (though it did feature the likeness of Daniel Craig), and GoldenEye featured some of the same environments and characters found in the 1997 Nintendo 64 game based on the Pierce Brosnan-led movie of the same name.
Bond 23 was originally pegged to be released in 2011, but financial troubles at MGM Studios made that date impossible to reach. Little is known of the film's plot, though it is believed that the flick will pick up directly where Bond's latest adventure, Quantum of Solace, left off.
It looks like the Daniel Craig Bond movies are follwoing a similar pattern to that of the Sean Connery ones, in that there is a recurring criminal organisation, i.e SPECTRE in the old films and Quantum in the new. Watch Blofeld be the head honcho lol. Oh and as for new game. I hope it pays proper homage to the classic movies. So newcomers understand that there is more to Bond than Dan.
yay another bond game better be better then bloodstone, and as good as goldeneye that is all i have to say lol
Great. I will buy the new game if done right. Both Quantum of Solace (~7 hrs ) and Bloodstone (~6 hrs ) were great games but had small single player campaign which was bad. I bought them both for $19 from Amazon. I will buy the new one for sure if done right. It only depends on the SP length - 12+ hours = instant buy with good review on day one for $60. If its gonna be ~5-6hours, then I'll buy it when the price drops to $9 or $15 max.
This is good news,Bloodstone was a step in the right direction, fun and fast, but flawed. There is a lot of room for improvement,so next James Bond better be great.
I recently played Quantum for Solace and must admit that the game was surprisingly Good. Too short but good.
Yes! Another film and another game! I hope that, if the game is made by Treyarch, more effort will be put in than QoS, hope Bizarre do it, Blood Stone is brilliant.
"and Goldeneye 007 landed exclusively on Wii in the latter half of the year" Not true, it also had a DS release, as did Blood Stone, which the article also neglected to mention. That aside, another James Bond game coming in almost 2 years sounds like a good-sized break after both multi-platform games of last year.
ehhh...as good as casino royale is...QoS wasnt. I was hoping for a new storyline. as for bond games...they are always decent games...that have a few issues. Goldeneye Wii def stands out againist the last few.
The 007 series has always been quite lucky with its games, that were always quite solid. BloodStone was a good title, if they follow up the story and improve on its flaws, it'll be a great game. Nevertheless, that's good news.
If Raven is making the new Bond game, then I know it will be awesome. They are one of the most underrated developers working in action games today. Both Wolfenstein and Singularity (especially Singularity) were fantastic games that nobody played. They really know how to make great action games. I can't wait to play a Bond game that they made. Even Blood Stone was pretty good, to tell you the truth. I thought it would be a disaster but it turned out to be a pretty worthy entry into the Bond series. However, it will be probably be junk compared to whatever Raven releases with the Bond name on it.
