Also, on the off chance anyone from capcom happens across the comments section: This is the way forward with the Megaman franchise. No shooters. No gritty, #edgy remakes. Simple, pretty, modern platformers with a strong attention to game mechanics. Remember, it doesn't need to be an homage to the past, it needs to BUILD on the past. Do not approach it as a retro project.
New DuckTales revealed
Capcom developing new side-scrolling game inspired by NES classic for Xbox Live, PSN, and Wii U; will launch this summer.
BOSTON--Today during Capcom's "World of Capcom" panel at PAX East, the publisher announced a new DuckTales title. Due out this summer on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and eShop for Wii U, the game is in development at WayForward Technologies (BloodRayne: Betrayal).
According to Capcom, the new DuckTales title will feature authentic character voice talent from the television show. Its level backgrounds will also be based on scenes from the show.
Capcom explained that all art for the game is hand-drawn and that the team at WayForward used the original NES DuckTales title as a blueprint for the new version.
Gamers worried about the game deviating from Disney's original vision can breathe a sigh of relief. Capcom said it is working very closely with Disney to "make sure everything feels right." The game will play "just like you remember," the company explained.
The game's debut trailer is embedded below.
