New Broken Sword game announced
Fourth iteration of Revolution's adventure game series coming to PCs next summer.
Although originally planned to be a trilogy of games, the Broken Sword series is getting a fourth installment thanks to fan enthusiasm, THQ announced. The as-yet-untitled adventure game will be released for the PC in summer 2006.
The Broken Sword series kicked off in 1996 with the PC release of Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars (called Circle of Blood in the US). The three games in the adventure series have seen releases on a variety of platforms besides the PC, including the PlayStation, Game Boy Advance, PlayStation 2, and Xbox.
The fourth game will see hero George Stobbart fall in love with a mysterious woman. The damsel's disappearance draws George into an international search for a powerful artifact to save the world once again. Interestingly, the announcement made no mention of George's longtime sidekick-cum-heroine Nico Collard, suggesting that she may not make an appearance in the new game.
