NBA Street V3 enters retail court
EA Sports Big's latest spin on street basketball has shipped for the Xbox, GameCube, and PlayStation 2.
After months of dribbling up and down the development court at EA Canada, NBA Street V3 is finally ready for the retail game. Electronic Arts has released the basketball game for the Xbox, GameCube, and PlayStation 2 under its EA Sports Big subbrand. The game is rated E for Everyone and retails for $49.99 on all platforms.
The third installment in the NBA Street franchise--the arcade-style basketball sim series that spawned the similarly urban-flavored NFL Street and FIFA Street series--NBA Street V3 builds on its predecessor, NBA Street Vol. 2. Besides all-new online play for both the Xbox and PlayStation 2, the game adds a career mode and a number of gameplay tweaks, including the "trick stick" feature.
NBA Street V3's graphics have also been given a new Def Jam: Fight for NY-like veneer, and the game comes with a series of new unlockables, including playable versions of the hip-hop trio the Beastie Boys. The GameCube version lets gamers play as classic Nintendo characters such as Mario and Luigi.
