NBA Elite 11 canceled

I new proper nba game from EA Sports would be good, NBA Elite had I alot of potential but I hope there's I competitor to nba 2k.

What they meant to say was, "We've cancelled this year's release of our NBA game - because we can't compete with 2K's version..."

predicting most of those who would have picked up NBA Elite 11 will now purchase NBA 2K11. lol EA... I wouldn't buy Elite over 2k11 even they did released it... I've played all the 2K series since I wos in highschool and liked it over NBA Lve (Elite). Too bad NFL 2k is gone. :(

HAhaaa EA slap 2k in the face with the Madden license, and 2k came back with an epic backhand. The demo for elite was half assed by I like the innovative controls. I give EA developers credit for that.

@docwoo I believe 2k did the same to EA with the baseball franchise. There hasn't been a good baseball game on Xbox since.

I can`t belive EA cancelled this game. I thought I had a decision to make.I guess not now! Not only will people pick up 2K11 this tome instead. They will never pick up the other again.

I was a EA fan for the longest until Madden got repetative to me and live is changed to elite then canceled WTF EA u let me down. GOOD BYE NBA ELITE

For a game that boasted such lofty goals like an "all new" control scheme and "skill-based" shooting, everything in the demo trailer looks an awful lot like last year's NBA Live 10. Again, not surprised it was canceled.

Not surprising at all. Delaying the game was the first nail in the coffin. When I saw the outstanding reviews that 2K11 was getting, I figured it was the 2nd nail. At that point it was just a matter of time before it was canceled.

Wow. That sucks. All that effort and no result. Still, I think they should have just released it later. I already think they release those games too early. Release around All-Star weekend or playoffs or something, when people actually start to care about basketball.

I knew this would happen. Just by playing the demo of the game, & Jordan being on the cover of 2K, I knew this wuz gonna happen. RIP NBA Elite formerly NBA Live. Watch they'll flop with the 2012 version.

Interesting... the latest OXM actually rated this game at 5.5, so I'm guessing that score really didn't do much to help put this game out on the shelf. Maybe it was the poor early reviews that caused it to be shelved.

Too bad.... the controls were amazing, you could really feel being in the court... it was the first time I was willing to purchase an NBA game... I still heve the demo on my xbox360... I'm still playing it from time to time....

EA's backward thinking killed this title. Instead of using facts and plan spending on the launch of this title, EA lets a bunch of marketing monkeys came up with unrealistic goals and budget. Good thing someone from finance went through some NPD #s and stopped the bleeding. They want to win against 2k so bad that it blindsided them. Funny thing is they still stood behind their choices of cover athletes. 2k has Kobe, LeBron and now MJ, anyone remember who?s on EA?s over? EA should get back to the basics and focus on what customers want and not some kind of EA?s vision of NBA that nobody cares.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!! I was really looking forward to this game and it gets canceled! I can't believe this! After all the work for this game they just straight up cancel it, they should have just taken everything from Live 10 and just added the new gameplay, at least make some money! I hate NBA2K11 and now I'm stuck with it. CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCRRRRRRRAAAAAPPPP

@frazzle00 ahhhh dude you dont know what your missing full Budesligue(German) and English league + lower divs, Please look on the website the kits and player faces will make you drool. But I agree with you , I have both PES on PC and Fifa 11 on PS3(My only game on console), the gameplay is more realistic, you actually feel some accomplishment when you score a goal. Also I have a problem with the lack of real player faces in Fifa and if they are done PES have done them better. Personality + !? come on ! for like a handful of players.... I mean even James Milner has a generic face

@ frazzle00 I hope you are playing the game on PC cos the PESeditpatch is a must all the authentic leagues, kits , teams. I do know the pesedit team are working on a PS3 patch

Wow. What a surprise. What's great about this game is that it does a great job at exposing FANBOYS.

The only thing I can reason why they didn't try and release it still was the developers came to them and said they would not be done by Christmas. I think that was the only thing EA was holding onto for this year's game was they still had Christmas in terms of sales.

@Dynamo11 Bro, then try the PESedit patch, Logos,kits and leagues everything is Fifa licence standard, The kits are actually better then Fifa's.eg On the Umbro striped kits in real life(and PES 2011 pesedit patch) have an almost unnoticable jaggered edge to them. In Fifa this jaggered is exaggerated. @parhar67 I have both and the gameplay on both is amazing Fifa is more arcadey while PES 2011 is more realistic. I found the gameplay in the full version of PES more playable then the demo.

now EA can see for 1 year what it feels like to be Visual Concepts' NFL squad in '96 (except that EA's squad still has their franchise to work on next year). i don't wish anyone ill though. lots of reviewers scored NBA Live 10 better than 2k10, so that is odd that EA would straight out cancel the game. it must have been a train wreck.

Screw EA. I come to Gamespot religiously in hopes to see the news that EA has finally disbanded and is no more.

Wow. It must have been really buggy. I mean, seriously buggy. EA have proven they are quite happy to put out broken games, with bugs that plain wreck their games, and not even bother removing them year after year in their 'annual updates'. For them to bin Elite... I can't even contemplate how glitch'd it must have been...

I'm now kinda looking forward to Elite 12. It's going to use what they did with Elite 11 (what worked anyway) and build on that. And really give the game a polish that EA hasn't been able to give Live since it will be in developement for twice the norm. If they can't come up with a proper NBA experience, they need to hang it up as far as coming out with an NBA basketball game is concern. Maybe they'll just do minor fixed & yearly updates with NBA Jam now.

Translates to: Simply because 2k Sports owned us with 2k11 and we didn't see the point in continuing this crappy game.

Hey "Tskunk" why don't you quit whining and being a fanboy and just enjoy any product or videogame? Besides I personally believe Anything 2K is way superior to EA, that elite demo was awful. But i still PLAY EA!! quit picking sides, have fun 2k11 is amazing

The Elite 11 demo actually seemed like it had potential. I refuse to play 2k sports games so I guess I am done playing basketball on consoles for a while.

why should I bother? I got NBA 2K11. that's enough for me, for all of us.

Um, good. It had been pushed to March '11 already, might as well just push it back to October, adjust stats, and re-label it Elite 12.
