Now I'd be REALLY happy if they bothered to release the damn game on PAL . . . their reluctance to do so over the last several iterations is beyond me actually. When the game has been released in short supply to some PAL territories, it has sold out quickly. But it seems this version, like '07 will NOT be released on PAL - yet again. '06 was, but that's all . . . . Shame on you EA . . not everyone outside the US hates NASCAR . . .
NASCAR goes for another lap
Car racing game heading to Xbox 360s and PlayStation 3s this summer; Tony Stewart takes checkered flag on cover athlete honors.
When a publisher owns one the exclusive rights to make games based on one of the country's biggest sports, there's really no reason not to keep making the games. Such is the case with Electronic Arts' grasp on NASCAR, as the publisher today announced that the series is returning for another season.
NASCAR 08 is scheduled for a summer release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the first time the series has taken a pit stop on next-generation consoles.
EA also announced that this year's cover athlete will be Tony Stewart, winner of two of the past four Nextel Cup Series. The quick-tempered driver is known for risk-taking on and off the track--he's gotten into some high-profile and controversial wrecks and doesn't mean speaking his mind (or letting his fists do the talking) when he thinks he's been wronged.
The game will allow players to suit up as a rookie driver and progress through a racing career, unlocking cars and gaining endorsements along the way. Online play will support up to 16 players, and EA says gamers will be able to share their tuning configurations with other racers.
NASCAR 08 is rated E for Everyone and has not yet been priced.
