Narnia chronicled 2 million times
Game based on book-based blockbuster is biggest effort from BVG; film scheduled to hit theaters at end of week.
Buena Vista Games, the multimedia arm of The Walt Disney Company, today announced that it has shipped its 2 millionth unit of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. The multiplatform game, released in mid-November on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, DS, Game Boy Advance, and PC, is the biggest self-published title to date from BVG, formerly known as Disney Interactive.
Narnia is based on the upcoming film of the same name, which is a silver-screen adaptation of C.S. Lewis' popular fantasy book. Players assume the role of the story's quartet of heroes--Peter, Edmund, Susan, and Lucy--and take on the wicked White Witch and her army of mythological beasts.
Demand for the game may increase over the weekend, as the Walt Disney Pictures film opens this Friday. The movie was cowritten and directed by Andrew Adamson (Shrek), and stars Tilda Swinton (Constantine, The Beach) and Jim Broadbent (Gangs of New York).
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe was developed by Traveller's Tales and retails for $49.99 on the Xbox, PS2, and GameCube, and $39.99 on the PC, all of which are rated T for Teen. The E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older-rated DS version sells for $34.99, and the E for Everyone-rated Game Boy Advance version sells for $29.99.
I saw the movie-It sucked really bad. I think LOTR just totally ruined it for me by being so great. I expect the game to suck as well. Thanks. Bye.

If the game is for 5 year olds, then it should do well. But don't expect anyone else to play it.
Bah... Book- Dam Superb! Movie- Looks bad ass Game- Looks like a chunky, slab of nonsense
will they ever stop making games out of movies???? it just doesn't work!!!
I wonder how much of the Christian imagery (purposely put there by Lewis) got into the game, and how much was left out, either to avoid offending people or to help it's marketability. I mean, people refuse to listen to "Christian music" even if the only stuff they've ever heard is Stryper, so I can imagine a game based on a Christian book by a Christian theologian/apologist would elicit a similar response...
I love the book , the story and the whole meaning... The moviee look....interesting at some point. GAme? - - - - ->Go to your Local Blockbuster
the game had a ton of cut scenes from the movie. I'm actually very interested in the movie now. the game plays like those LoTR action games but there are RPG elements were you spend coins you collect on the powers you want. it takes button combos or Team up moves to perform the powers. over all not that bad but really easy. i think it would be a good game for kids.
I play in it LITTLE - it's for kids ONLY... I've saw better platformers: Jak & Daxter, Ratchet and Clank e.t.c.
movie is going to be awesome . We never have enough good fantasy movies. I always wonder why people even bother with a game when you can watch an even better movie.
*shrug*
narnia is awesome, even though im unsure about the game...
So what does this mean? About 1.5 million copies of this will be thrown out in a few years due to them not selling.
"The Childrens BBC series of Narnia will always be the BEST!! Teh memories!!" I remember those! From the time I was 8 until I was about 10 I took those out from our public library once every two months or so. I can even remember some scenes of it. Those were great movies (or at least I thought they were great. And I'm not taking them out again so I can see that they are infact crappy and ruin my memories of them).

I'm hoping this turns out well since I really love the Narnia series of books. However, I'm really interested in this because Traveler's Tales is doing it, after my great experience with Lego Star Wars, I'm really hoping for the best from these guys.
The book was required reading back when I was a kid in school. I'm really surprised it's taken this long for it to hit the masses as a major film, game, etc.
my friends r getting it 4 chirstmass i hope its good while they play with peter il be having fun downloading games on my 150$ xbox360 haha
The movie trailer looks lame so thats what I expect from the movie and the game..."It is said that when 2 sons of adam and 2 daughters of eve..." hahaahahah that stuffs so LAME...i'll rent it if theres nothing else maybe
Movie looks promising. The camera view and lack of direction makes the game unenjoyable.
I am not even interested in this game at all. In fact, how did I end up on this trhead?
very good books. unsure about the movie. afraid of the game.
C.S. Lewis is rolling in his grave right about now
The movie looks pretty good, but the game doesn't look too impressive just from the previews.
Book-AMAZING Movie- Hopefully AMAZING! Game- A renter
turkiye...the movie isnt even out yet.....

The game is worth a rent.
