n-Space expands for Revolution

Geist developer hiring up to 20 staffers, doubling workspace for work on Nintendo's next-gen console.

Everyone knows that next-gen games are going to cost more money to make, with a large chunk of that increase due to hiring new employees. Such is the case for n-Space, a game developer based in Orlando, Florida.

The online edition of the Orlando Sentinel is reporting that n-Space, an independent game developer, is nearly doubling its operations. The company, currently about 50 staffers strong, is looking to employ about 20 new artists and programmers before summer. n-Space will also be making more space by adding on 7,000 square feet to its home.

In addition to developing new ties to employees, the company fronted with the little "n" may be fostering a relationship with the big "N." The Sentinel reports that n-Space is developing games for Nintendo's next-gen console, code-named Revolution. No details on the game were released, and no official announcement has been made. n-Space's last project was the Nintendo GameCube-exclusive Geist.

Geist wasnt that good but I hope if they are working on a Rev it better be good or at lest Decent

shrum91 5 pts

Geist could be a Halo killer. it could..they just have to really work at it

Symytry 5 pts

If they license an engine from someone else and spend all their time working on the actual game their making, it could be a damn good game.

frontier49 5 pts

I hope it's much better than Geist. The concept was fantastic, but the gameplay was horrid. There was absolutely no reason for all the ridiculous audio clipping and graphical bugs...it was like playing a PS2 game. Just kidding about the PS2 remark.

This is great news for Revolution!!! I think that n-Space will start refining their skills and will deliver some great content. The most interesting part is that the article states that they are working in some "games". So I just hope that they can deliver two or three games within the first year.

More Revolution support... YES! :)

More support for the Revolution, that's good news.

I haven't played Giest, but it looked interesting. If I get a revolution, I may give this game a try.

I agree Guerrilla can't make games at all Killzone is nothing but a bad ordinary shooter that Sony loved the name KILL thats why they called it KILLzone because Sony need violent names in their title to get attention while Nintendo and Microsoft use proper names like Halo and Metoird Prime.

i would like to see a geist sequal i loved the idea of it. and the story was pretty good. it just needed a whole lot more polish.

landau492 5 pts

everything related to nintendo = crap

Seraphim_24 5 pts

Ya know I could do some nifty game art if they don't mind letting me work from home ^-^. I loved Geist, especially it's unique multi player mode. I hope to high heavens that they're working on a Revolution sequel, even though the original never really got the attention it deserved.

soulitier 5 pts

well they got quite a task sony fanboys are a proud and stupid bunch they killed the dreamcast. and there are people i know who will buy the ps3 just because its a new sony system

I'm playing Geist right now, it's flawed, but still enjoyable. It'd be nice to see a much more fleshed out sequal to Geist for the Revolution, especially with the new controller, it could make a great launch title. I just hope that if there is in fact a Geist 2 they'll fully except the M ratedness, the original Geist only has an M rating for minimal blood, a girl covered in bubbles, and mild curses.

I just hope they make something better than Geist this time

Geist wasn't bad, it was simply the victim of delays and too much hype. When your expectations get too high about anything, they become nearly impossible to live up to. Since Geist is a "good" game, and not a great one, people were disappointed with it. But that's a result of their own overly optimistic expectations.

chrisdojo 5 pts

the more support for nintendo the better!

OPOLO 5 pts

Well at this point, I'll buy a Rev for Metroid & Zelda

BigC43 5 pts

I really enjoyed Geist, a Geist 2 for the Rev would be fun to play and almost might make the Rev worth getting.

Reetesh 6 pts

Finally some companies are EXPANDING rather than Removing staff like many others around:D and I also hope that the Game is going to be something great:D

shrum91 5 pts

portuguy7 5 pts

regulesblade 5 pts

wow that sounds pretty interesting

Moojable 5 pts

I loved the multiplayer in Geist. It would be so awesome to have another game with multiplayer similar to Geist and shoot the crap outta people online using the Revolution's awesome controller. ^_^

samekila 5 pts

more 3rd party looks like revolution is putting Nintendo back in the game i would buy one if the only game was metroid of Zelda cant wait for a true Mario sequel to but i think this time it ant all about them games first person shooters are gonna be crazy and they need to bring back piolet wings and mario paint

death919 5 pts

Geist 2 possibly!?!? YAY! That was a fun game! I loved the puzzles in the game!

FuguNabe 5 pts

More developer for Rev = looking good... Be interesting what game they trying to make or Rev.

DarkKefka 5 pts

Good! Good! We just need Bungie to make Halo 3 for the REV and Nintendo will control the world. Just kidding, do not kill me. Is good to see more companies interested in the REV.

i_love_my_ds: From what I have heard, Ubisoft is working on a game for the Revolution. I for one am happy to hear of more support for the Revolution. I want the system to garner as much support as it can. Can't wait for E3!!

jerico6 5 pts

As long as their new games don't suck as much as Geist....

i_love_my_ds 5 pts

is Ubisoft developing for the rev? they make some of the most creative games and i think they could develop an awesome one for the system.

joeamis 5 pts

Ya just spend less than 3 years making a game with flaws.

davahsa 5 pts

Big N allready bolstering second-tier devs... Way2B

Benihana7 5 pts

Hmmm....do I smell a Geist sequel? ...Probably not, but this is interesting news

Petri87 5 pts

A sequal to geist would be great. Its a great game but it had some flaws that could have easely been fixed.

Kingofunrealuk 5 pts

We'll see what comes of this, Geist was a misguided game to say the least. Alot of interesting concepts shame the core shooting mechanics and the controls seriously let it down.

banjobear_basic 5 pts

"Kuju, by the way, never was exclusive with Nintendo and they are making a revolution title right now" Well neither is n-space  Kuju is making city of the dead for ps2 and xbox and a ps3 fps redwood falls. No revolution title from them.

SCARFACELP 5 pts

Hopefully they will prove to be faster and better at original projects but I'll settle for better.

GamerDude02 5 pts

Hopefully they can creat a great shooter for the Revo

Kayrod29 5 pts

3rd party support for Nintendo has never been crappier. Ah yeah .....

adroitone 5 pts

It seems n-Space is going to end up turning into a second party which would be great. Kuju, by the way, never was exclusive with Nintendo and they are making a revolution title right now. Silicon Knights, they just had different views.

Tamashii_Sensei 5 pts

Always nice to see more support announced for the Revolution.

dawooten 5 pts

come on, no whammy, no whammy, no whammy, stop!
