Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition will be among the games shown in Midway’s booth at E3.

Midway has revealed the full lineup of the games that it will show at E3 2003. While a majority of the games had been previously announced, a number of Midway’s Game Boy Advance games will be shown for the first time. First, there’s Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition, which lets four players go head-to-head via the Game Boy Advance link cable. You can place bets on the outcome of these battles, as well as on the outcome of minigames and special battle sequences. The money earned from these bets can be used to purchase hidden characters, backgrounds, and additional features in the krypt.

The next game in Midway’s GBA lineup is Static Shock, which is based on the WB cartoon of the same name. You’ll assume the role of Virgil Hawkins, who has to do battle against villains taken right from the cartoon. But that’s not the only game based on a cartoon in Midway’s lineup. The company is also working on a Super Duper Sumos game for the Game Boy Advance. You can choose to play as any one of the three sumos, each of which has his own special attack. In addition, a game based on the Justice League cartoon on Cartoon Network is in development. The game will be an episodic adventure that features the art style of the cartoon. Lastly, there’s Ozzy & Drix, which is based on the WB cartoon of the same name (which in turn is based on the film Osmosis Jones). Ozzy and Drix will have to wipe out anything that tries to affect the health of the person they’re living inside of.

Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition is scheduled for release this summer. All the other Game Boy Advance games in Midway’s lineup are scheduled for release this fall.
