Mortal Kombat retailer-exclusive DLC going on sale

anyone knows about new characters? Ive heard about a skarlet (on MK official site) any rumours or adicional info? :)

Why don't they release it for free. People bought their game didn't they. The least they can do is give them some "thank you" DLC. Pssh, I will never pay for DLC; developers are taking the biscuit.

Now all we need is for someone to predict that this will be sold for much more than the actual planned price. Then when the real price is announced, it will seem low by comparison. Personally I think paying for costumes is ridiculous.

theres no way this is gonna be free. the developers arent generous enuf for that. else they would of added them to the original version, only 2 reasons they made it available, either because they have gotten 1000s of complaints about not being able to access this content without the PRE ORDERed version. or that or they planned on doing exactly this from the start.... and from a marketing possiton, the latter almost guarantees every person who bought the game will spend more than the RRP. from buying collectors edition or DLC. my guess is its gonna cost around 900-1200points or equiv value all things said im still happy they are releasing it :) the one thing u want from a BEAT EM UP game is to unlock ALL moves and outfits... having that missing was always a little disheartening

@DrKill09 Mortal Kombat multiplayer on ps3 is unlocked for everyone until the store returns. you don't need to use your pass to play online.

All I want is to be able to activate my online pass, but the F*(^&ing ps Store is still down :(

If its a considerable price I will get it but if its like 10 bucks no thank you.

One thing I'm sick of, are the people who claim "I spend $60 for an unfinished game, and had to spend another $60 to unlock everything I was entitled to!". No. You spend $60 for what the company licensed you to have, which was 100% of the game. Any other content you buy is extra. It's not like they sat around thinking of what to cut in order to make more money. The only game I can think of off the top of my head that had story elements removed, and it was blatantly mentioned in the game itself, is Assassin's Creed 2. Even then, I don't accuse the company of ripping me off for an incomplete game. If a game comes out, it has a pre-order costume, map or item, I fully expect that at some point that item will show up on the PSN store for a small fee

Don't get me wrong, I think this installment brings Mortal Kombat back to notoriety but honestly I wouldn't pay a dime for costumes. New fatalities, characters, x-ray moves,etc and I'll be interested. That was my main peeve with the game, the fact that each character has one x-ray move. I would like to see variety with them. For instance, if the opposing character is facing the opposite direction or both characters are in the air then I'd love to see a variation on what x-ray move they will do. It's probably asking too much but on the other hand seeing the same x-ray move makes it lose its luster after a while.

Um...any price greater than free is too much. We already spent $60 for the game. There is no reason to charge us to unlock content already on the disc.

I'm not giving more than $5 for those.

I remember Boon saying that NRS won't charge gamers for the stuff already inlcuded in the disc. I hope they keep their promise.....I don't want NRS to be like Capcom...greedy, really greedy

i don't know why everyone is getting all hyped over this someone twitted boon yesterday asking how much will it cost and all he replied was i don't know yet. Meaning this could still be free and probably will be. They mentioned some free stuff coming on twitter awhile ago. anyone can figure this out. the patch will be free this will be free. the only thing that will cost microsoft points to download and get will be the dlc characters like skarlett kenshi etc. and if they release like the retro sektor and cyrax those costumes would be considered as payable since there not on the disk already. i guranteed im right.

You can get these "DLCs" via hack. Why buy something that's on a disk you already paid for?

Btw yh they promised that this DLC 'd be free. I mean okay if MK9 won't chunk up enough of money so they wanted to make more profit. But MK9 outrun even Portal 2 in sales. Plus Boon clearly promised that there won't be any on disc DLC..but hey: those costumes ARE already on the disc..*sigh*

Those costumes are already on the disk. I'm not paying anything to have them unlocked. I already bought the game for full price ffs.

I already have Sub-Zero, Ermac & the code 4 Jade's MK3 outfit. Do i really wanna pay 4 the rest of them? They said there's 7 of them. I have 2.5 (PS Store isnt up so i cant get Jade's outfit) of them. Is it worth it? I hope they have a seperate plan as well.

I'll pay good money to get the entire DLC set though I wonder to myself... what the heck to do with the Klassic Sub-Zero I got when I went to Best Buy to get MK9.
