Mortal Kombat hitting PC this summer

Komplete Edition of NetherRealm's 2011 fighting game launching digitally July 3 with a physical release set for August 6.

The much-praised 2011 Mortal Kombat reboot is coming to PC.

Publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today that Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition for PC will launch digitally July 3 with a release at retail slated for August 6.

Exclusive images of the game are available below.

Mortal Kombat on PC will include all previously released downloadable content, including warriors like Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain, and Freddy Krueger.

In addition, all modes and features found in the console version of Mortal Kombat have made their way over to the PC iteration. The game also supports the Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition Fight Stick for "full controller capability."

NetherRealm Studios handed off development on the PC version to High Voltage Software, the independent studio behind The Conduit, Kinect Star Wars, and various licensed games.

I strongly encourage everyone to buy this game. MK has not appeared on PC for 15 years because the makers felt that it wasn't worth it due to piracy. This is a chance to prove it otherwise. Please buy the game and support the developer. I myself live at a place where its just about impossible to get a real copy. So I am going to have a  friend, who is coming home from Malaysia, bring it for me. Please make the effort if you are a fan of MK, or even just a fighting game fan. I still play MK4 and Trilogy to this day and I have waited long for the day when another MK game comes to PC.

People, please buy the game. It will ensure we get future MK's on PC, we may even get "Injustice" if the sales are OK. So go out and show MK some love!

Damn... Really happy that it's finally happened buuuut... I might be rocking a PS3 by then and I'd rather have this game on console than PC, ideally. That said, if the PC version comes with the DLC characters as standard...

@Shanks_D_Chop it comes with all dlc charactors, its the komplete edition (not kratos though, that was a ps3 exclusive)

i could spend a few pennies on this when goes on sale. i don't get so much out of fighting games, but MK is always MK.

it's nice to see PC getting some love from fighting games too.

Nice one, already have it on PS3 but might pick it on PC to clash with some friends who never had a PS3, that is, if i convince them to buy this one XD

Gotta spread the word...

As a fighting game fan - who primarily games on the PC - I am genuinely happy with this announcement. I know I'll play it more than all the recent PC SF titles COMBINED. If you already played this on the consoles, then guess what, you don't need it for the PC too. If they make it modifiable - FLAWLESS VICTORY!!!

I will be getting this.  I have great memories playing in the Arcades and then the Genesis and SNES versions.  Yes I had both because it was a game I enjoyed and I supported both systems because they were both great.  I sure hope it modder friendly too.  Late, but at least it is finally coming.

I lost my ps3 copy, so if this comes at a decent price and have 4 player tag multiplayer, i'll buy it.

Took them too damn long. Now if only Capcom would stop being douches and give us Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom with all previous DLC released as standard for buying the PC version.

We need more fighters and RPGS.

Wow.  Only 2 years later.

and we PC Gamers are supposed to be happy about that...for Mortal Kombat.

Just not feeling it.

I hope WB don't go the route of the SF4 games and their own Arkham Asylum and Arkham City and use Games For Windows Life, they'd be idiots if they did.
