Like some others, I own all of the consoles, but I tend to play most games on my 360. Not sure why,but i think it is bc I find Xbox Live easier to deal with than Playstation Network. Sure, PSN is free (kinda) while the 360 requires a subscription. I hate it that on PSN I lose some games if my membership expires. I also find the PSN interface extremely confusing and cannot believe that some demos are only available to paying members. I can't afford both, honestly, so I have to live with one or the other. That sucks. Esp living in a corner of the world which is isolating like a gulag in th e winter. Anyhow, I am thrilled with Mass Effect and ME2. I find myself measuring new games against Mass Effect. ME is actually the first time I have played as a woman even though I am a female gamer. My female Shepherd looks real. And she doesn't look like a hooker, thank you very much. I have been awaiting the new Star Wars game (The Old Republic). Believe it or not I am pissed that the graphics are going to be cartoonish. I had assumed, wrongly. that they would shoot for Mass Effect-type characters and graphics., Instead they are using graphics that will make it harder to take the game seriously. Say it isn't a done deal yet, please....
More Mass Effect 2 DLC inbound
Cerberus Daily News message reveals BioWare's second Commander Shepard entry receiving additional material prior to Mass Effect 3.
At the 2010 Video Game Awards, BioWare made Commander Shepard's third travel through time and space official when it announced Mass Effect 3 for release during holiday 2011. Now, it appears the developer isn't yet ready to leave the science fiction world of Mass Effect 2 behind.
According to an in-game update via Mass Effect 2's daily news service--the Cerberus Daily News--Mass Effect 2 will receive a new batch of DLC in 2011. Unfortunately, the announcement was decidedly brief and lacked further information.
The most recent Mass Effect 2 downloadable content was the warmly received Lair of the Shadow Broker, which arrived in early September. That content saw Commander Shepard team up with the blue-hued Liara, taking the fight to the elusive Shadow Broker.
Also announced via the Cerberus Daily News update was intelligence that daily updates will cease on January 24.
"The Cerberus Daily News will begin a hiatus on January 24th, finishing its run of one full year. Daily postings will cease except for three weeks in 2011," reads the update. "A week of posts will precede a downloadable content release, and two more weeks will lead up to the release of Mass Effect 3."
Mass Effect 2 for the PlayStation 3--which uses the Mass Effect 3 game engine and contains several previously released Mass Effect 2 DLC packs--is slated for release on January 18. The title is due out on Sony's HD console in Europe on January 21. Mass Effect 3 will launch simultaneously across the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC during holiday 2011.
