More details on Baten Kaitos preorder promos
Depending on where you buy Namco's GameCube RPG, you'll be able to snag one of three different giveaways. Pictures inside.
Two weeks ago, GameSpot posted the first details on the preorder bonus items that would be given away with the first pressing of Namco's upcoming GameCube role-playing game Baten Kaitos. Today, we can reveal even more details on what you'll get when you buy the RPG at a participating retailer.
Customers who preorder the title at either EB Games or GameStop will receive a 2-foot wide, 3-foot tall wall scroll featuring characters from the game. The scroll available exclusively at EB Games features the RPG's main character Kalas, while GameStop's exclusive scroll (not yet shown on the site) features all of the game's characters. The wall scrolls will be given out separately when the game is purchased.
And, as previously announced, gamers who preorder the title through Toys R Us stores, or the retailer's online outlet (part of Amazon.com) will receive a soundtrack CD. While neither Namco nor the retailer have announced a track listing for the disc, the cover art revealed this week reads "Official Soundtrack," which might indicate more content than a typical sampler CD would feature. The CD will be attached to the back of the Baten Kaitos game box.
Developed by Xenosaga creators Monolith Soft, Baten Kaitos is a fantasy-styled RPG for the GameCube featuring scenario writing and art direction from members of the Chrono Cross team and a soundtrack by Star Ocean and Tales composer Motoi Sakuraba. Rated "T" for Teen, the game will carry an SRP of $49.99 when it is released on November 16. For more information, check out GameSpot's recent feature preview.
