Capcom pushes 3DS action game to tentative summer 2013 launch window for "further quality enhancements."
Monster Hunter 4 has been delayed. Capcom announced today that the 3DS action game is no longer slated for release by March 2013, and is instead now tentatively scheduled for summer 2013.
Capcom said the decision to postpone Monster Hunter 4 was made on the basis that "further quality enhancements" would be needed to meet fan expectations.
"Capcom apologizes to all stakeholders and Monster Hunter fans who are anxiously awaiting this new game for this delay and asks for their understanding as development on this exciting title continues," the company said in a statement.
As a result of Monster Hunter 4's delay, along with "weakened" sales of Resident Evil 6, Capcom today slashed its full-year net income expectations by 33 percent. The company previously targeted net income of ¥9.8 billion ($1.6 billion) for the period, but is now anticipated to total ¥6.5 billion ($1 billion), or a drop of ¥3.3 billion ($529 million).

I hope MH4 will be online-enabled. Unlike MHTri: Ultimate, which is only online-enabled on the Wii U.
Do any of those 'further enhancements' include something other than hopelessly-repetitive and boring gameplay elements...? No? Don't bother MAKING ANOTHER IN THIS SERIES! If I wanted a hunting game of this caliber, why don't you think I would grab one of the vintage buck hunting games?
1 Like The game developers need not to worry. We fans could wait. I'd just wished they make it open world. The ''door to door'' map style is sometimes inconvenient. They should've localized MHP3rd too while they are at it.
Now to buy myself a 3ds.
I don't mind which system they bring it to as long as they bring it over to North America. I mean i did clock over 1000hours in MH during the ps2 days.
1 Like Just combine Dragon's Dogma with Monster Hunter already. I love monster hunter, but the stiff azz combat controls are really showing their age. Let me climb on the back of Lagi and stab it in the spine! Let me shoot ten arrows into a Rath and drop it from the sky. Hell make it open world so I won't get smacked when following Diablos into the next area due to load times.
@wicked_laugh If only they would bring MH to Sony or Microsoft once more... I clocked 250 hours on my PS2, loved the game but honestly can't play it on a portable.

@GH05T-666 I had it on Wii, fun it's fun but you must like farming and redoing the same missions various times for different rewards.
There is also real farming, smiting and important enemies have different spots you have to hit 'em for different drops and much more.
And the Wii U/3DS versions will probably have even more stuff.
I'm not interested in playing this game on handhelds anymore Capcom. Just put up on Steam so I can play it properly.
monster hunter 3 has been milked to the bone, yet they cant make a dam monster hunter outsided nintendo platform, garbage if you ask me, i gave up on monster hunter. i lost interest since i always have to play it on a handheld or a wii and thats not my ball of tea, i imported monster hunter 3rd for ps3 and it would surfice my monster hunters cravings but its to hard to understand the japanese language barrier, i sure hope phantasy star online 2 makes it over here since i know that will block any thought of monster hunter..

MH4 on Wii U and 3ds released in japan and Us at the same time would have been marvelous. I really hate always being far behind in the monster hunter releases compared to japan.
Honestly... It really2 look bad to bear number 4. That number make us all expect more than 3.
So, now MH4 is releasing in Summer 2013...in Japan.
I suppose the west may not see it until 2014, maybe Winter 2013 if we are lucky. This series doesn't get released outside of Japan as much as it should.

There isn't a Wii U version of MH4. The Wii U is getting the older game, Monster Hunter 3, as an HD port. You can also buy Monster Hunter 3 now for Wii.
Monster Hunter 3G HD is coming to 3DS and Wii U in the West, and Japan just got it. Of course, for the West they are renaming it as MH3 Ultimate, but it's still a port of the 3rd MH game.
This article is about Monster Hunter 4, a full fledged sequel.
@SolidTy The Mh 3 game on Wiiu is different from Mh3 on the Wii..that game is Monster Hunter Tri G in Japan on the 3ds with more content.
@IanNottinghamX It's the same game with added content, yes. That's what companies do to ports, the late ports get added stuff. It's an industry practice at this point.
And to clear up what i mean by ignore fans look up Operation Cherry Blossom and the numerous petitions to bring MHP3rd to the west.

And those that are waiting for MH4 to come to the west? Don't count on it. If MHU tanks then we will not get another monster hunter for years at best or ever again.
Last time we got a western version of MH, it did not sell well and we ended up waiting 3 and a half years.Then capcom ignored it's fans just like they did megaman and now we are getting MHU.
If it tanks though.....don't count on ever seeing MH stateside again.Learn some japanese.

Also have my WII U ready for MH3 Ultimate too! Just need to store up on a lot of food, find a way to lock my door so people can't crash in to get me out and a oxygen tank.

For those who might not know, this is concerning MH4's Japan release. Though we know there will be a NA release nothing has been released.
@Kenshin0011 Sucks we probably won't get it till like 2014. Maybe Christmas 2013 if were lucky.
Also we better get Dragon Quest 7. Thats coming out in Japan on Feb 7th not Capcom but still...Nintendo published those games( DQ series not MH) in NA so hopefully they do it again.

It could have been worst, at lease it's not Luigi's Manion been delay and that game will keep me busy until MH3 is release and besides, there are other games to play anyway.
I have a feeling it has to do with Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate being released in March. They would cannibalize sales if MH4 was released at the same time as 3 ultimate wouldn't they?
Great, more delays. Oh well, I guess it gives us something to look forward to after we manage to get through Fire Emblem, Etrian Odyssey and Castlevania.

MH4 is japan only and will not be coming to the west.If you want it you need to buy a japanese 3ds and import the copy as well as a japanese analog attachment.
None of it is region free.
Take your time over there tri u will keep me busy for the next year bring the us version over here next year for Wii u and 3ds :)
