Latest entry in the Monster Hunter franchise to support cross-platform multiplayer and save game transfer across Wii U and 3DS.

Capcom's Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate--known as Monster Hunter 3G in Japan--is coming to the Wii U and 3DS in March 2013, Nintendo revealed today. The game will support cross-platform multiplayer over the Internet or via a local Wi-Fi connection.

Players who own the 3DS and Wii U will be able to transfer their save files between both systems, allowing them to take their game on the road with the 3DS, and then pick up where they left off on the Wii U when they get home.

The announcement came as part of Nintendo's media presentation today, which also revealed a starting price of $299 for the Wii U, and a release date of November 18 in the US and November 30 in Europe.

@Bmello55 I agree. I just played the 3DS demo now and I was so suprised at how good the graphics were for a 3DS game. Also, the 3D itself is stunning and the framerate as you mentioned, was also perfect.

I've never heard of monster hunter before trying the demo and now I'm looking forward to this game!

So I have a Vita and was hoping for a newer version on MH to come out so that I could have that to play during my deployments. Why would they stop with what they started with. FFS Capcom.

@HAIGZ Nah man i think capcom's monster hunter with sony Partnership is dead and gone...it makes me upset but you can buy Freedom Unite on your ps3 and be happy with that .sorry man =[

@Diabeaters Thanks for the reply, It sucks that capcom's neglected PS3 users since the monster hunter franchise became popular through sony's consoles.

Please don't have the same Multi-player as the previous game Monster Hunter Tri otherwise this game is going to do nothing for me as I won't see the point of purchasing it even with the added extras. I want real progressive Hunting Co-Op.

i just hope two things: no  infinite versions/DLCs (like SF 4) and no "incomplete" game (like Streef Fighter X Tekken) =/

I had tons of fun with Monster hunter on the PSP. I have a 3DS but I don't think I want to play this game on such a small screen. Its either comes out on Vita or just forget it.

@Serious   i have the 3DS XL and the demo which was released today   and its really fun man i played all the psp ones and it brought back so many memories booting this up    plus its so much clearer than the psp one : )

@Serious first off the screens arent that small.and also the vita will never see a new monster hunter.

What? Didn't they just announce it wasn't getting a release in March after all? o_O

System seller for me anyway, along with Pikmin 3 and Bayo 2.

My only real concern is if they decide to do the same with the Wii U version as they did with previous Monster Hunters on consoles.  If they are going to have content only accessible through online.  There are quests on Tri that are going to be unplayable when they shut down the servers, which is exactly what happened to the PS2 versions.  Hopefully they don't make that mistake again and make sure you can access all of the quests outside of multiplayer.  If they don't, I'll have to make sure I get the 3DS one, since they've always had all of the quests available.

Oh boy, and I'm still not done MHF2.   I'm gonna buy a 3DS soon; but even after I finish MHF2, I'm gonna spend a little time away from MH...   And then that damn game is gonna bite my itch for MH again.

Araknie

@Pieter101 It's only the third generation that's exclusive to Nintendo. So every Monster Hunter 3 version is for Nintendo console. Hope that i make this clear for you.

@Araknie Well MH4 is gonna be on DS to and not on PSP or PSV and they dont have plans to bring them to PSP/V/3..

@Los907  @Araknie  @Pieter101 Capcom was originally wanting to release mhp3rd in north america, but sony refused to update the adhoc servers over here and believed that Capcom should have to pay to upgrade it, because of this arguement sony systems will N E V E R get another MH. really fucking sucks but oh well. WIll save up for a 3ds and/or wii u

@Araknie @Pieter101 More like Sony fxcked up somehow and Nintendo is the new main.

Araknie

@Pieter101 Yes, but it can be on Sony consoles. They didn't considered portable because they don't see good sales there anymore. They said that.

Finally, a Monster Hunter game in HD. The only thing that put me off of Tri was the ridiculously low resolution.

I'm so getting this for the 3DS! Tri lacked more customizations and weapons... Hope the 3DS version has wi-fi enabled for online support!
