Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate adding cross-region play, off-TV support
Capcom to release software update in April that will merge NA and EU game servers, allow gamers to play entirely on GamePad.
Capcom announced today that a post-launch software update for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will add cross-region play and off-TV support for the Wii U action game.
The update will arrive in April and will merge the North American and European game servers to allow all users to play together. "This is happening solely because you communicated your thoughts very loud and clear--and it made sense," Capcom said.
The publisher reiterated that online play for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is free and that the game will be supported by free downloadable content quests delivered "almost every week."
The first extra quests will be available when the game launches March 19 in North America and March 22 in Europe.
As for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate off-TV play, when the update arrives, gamers will be able to play the entire game solely on the Wii U GamePad screen. Capcom said this feature was one of the first requests it received when the game was announced.
A 3DS version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is also on the way.
