MMOFPS PlanetSide 2 coming to PlayStation 4

@AlphaWolF_J  I'm so hoping that we see cross platform next generation.

@NightmareP3 With it being present from the start, I could imagine Planet Side 2 on PS4 having a fairly huge userbase after a while.

@Grimkillah MMORPGs with a controller would be like trying to controll a nuclear submarine all alone and with no experience.

@SDBusDriver1979 Yeah, that's definitely something they're going to be working on. Once they have the new continent in they're planning on implementing continent locking, so with that will likely come an intercontinental progression system. 

Plus they're going to be revamping the facility bonuses and the resource system so owning certain territories is much more important. On top of that with the new lattice system and defence changes it makes the fights a lot more long lasting an meaningful, rather than a game of whack a mole.

Right now though they're adding in new Alerts like capturing a continent or as many biolabs/amp stations/tech plants as possible for a massive XP bonus.

@SDBusDriver1979 I actully like that about PS2 alot, it makes the game less stressfull and more fun, also they did add an alert system  which gives objectives to all empires every few hours, example : "hold the most amount of teretory for 2 hours on continent X and win" or "capture these 3 bio labs to win"

@wexorian Never going to happen, Tencent (owners of LOL) won't let Sony take a cut from their microtransactions

Same Reason Diablo 3 on consoles won't have a RMAH,  Since Sony would have wanted a nice cut per sale

@wexorian I don't think so either. From what I've heard/seen, the game is not very well optimized, and I doubt that that will change for this port. Even so, it will still be a great game - and free to play! - for PS4 users.

@wexorian ps4 is 10 folds more powerful than your kiddie pc. yeah thats right only 10 year old kids and 40 year old play games on pc because they think pc is cool.

well 10 year old thinks pc is cool and 40 year old jus obsess about being superior to kids thats why they pc game. but really ps4 is alot powerful than pc of today.

@wexorian Pretty sure it will handle Planetside 2 just fine, the Xbox One would probably crumple under the pressure tho.

@wexorian There I disagree. Hell, my two year old Dell runs PS2 just fine at 50 frames on medium-high quality. Unless I was stuck at The Crown for a major slogfest, I never had framerate issues. I can't think that Sony would take it's next gen console, and run a bad port of a flagship title on it. :-) 

@samrvdman Planet Side 2 is by Sony.

@TrueGB That was probably a new player, it can be a pretty daunting game, but once you're used to it then it can flow very well. Squads offer a lot of options for spawning and there are vehicles which are used as mobile spawn points. Plus every 5 minutes you can use the instant action system to drop yourself into the largest battle it can find.

@Shin_Gallon Heck, consoles have mouse and keyboard support now. Dunno why they don't use it though.

@Prats1993 Well I wouldn't use the word "enjoying" with the words  planetside 2 and gamepad in one sentence.

IT will work but will probably be annoying and clunky as hell. Some games are simply terrible on a certain control scheme and a fast shooter is one of those. Unsuited for sluggish controller aiming. Will kill half the fun
