Mizuguchi's Meteos delayed
Tetsuya Mizuguchi pushes back the release date for the upcoming DS puzzler; says more polish is needed.
TOKYO--The release of Meteos, an upcoming puzzle game for the Nintendo DS, will be pushed back to March 10 from February 24, officials from Q Entertainment revealed today on the game's Web site.
Developers said they wanted more time to improve the quality of the game before it hits stores. "We're very reluctant to change the date on something we've announced already...we are extremely sorry for people that have been waiting for its release," producer Tetsuya Mizuguchi said on the site.
Designed by Kirby creator Masahiro Sakurai and produced by Space Channel 5 designer Mizuguchi, Meteos is a puzzle game in which blocks (called meteors) descend from the top of the screen. Players move the blocks up and down to align three that are alike. Rather than vanishing, the blocks then catch fire and fly off the screen with the blocks on top of them. The objective is to clear the screen and keep it from filling with meteors.
