Mirror's Edge easter egg found in Battlefield 3 DLC

Newly released Aftermath expansion for EA shooter includes Faith's running shoes, audio of her panting.
DICE continues to tease a return to Mirror's Edge. YouTube user xXHerseyBoyXx has spotted (via MP1st) Mirror's Edge protagonist Faith Connors' running shoes atop one of the buildings in Battlefield's latest expansion, Aftermath. Additionally, Faith can be heard panting near the shoes.
Last week, former DICE employee Ben Cousins said it is "general knowledge" in the Stockholm, Sweden development scene (where DICE is located) that Mirror's Edge 2 is in production. The game has been the subject of rumor for years.
The original Mirror's Edge launched in November 2008 to a warm critical reception. Previous reports claimed the sequel was being developed by a small team, before being stalled, but not abandoned.

before looking into it, I was sure mirrors edge was made my Valve, that clean crisp visual that doesn't go too far is exactly like their HL design. Been following Dice ever since because of this.
With this much stuff going on about Marrior's Edge then they have to make a Marrior's Edge 2. I be waiting, I be waiting.

@i_like_space yep, 4th december on xbox and pc for premium users, otherwise another 2 weeks of wait...
@i_like_space I think it's only out for ps3 right now, to be released very soon (a week later) on xbox. Sony has an exclusivity deal. At least if I remember correctly.
i hope we be able to explore the city side missions you know?and the gun fight either gets awesome or just totally removed.(if it's gonna stay it better have some sort of covering or you just have one hand gun with one mag and be able to shoot it wisely but in any situation! )hand to hand combat be better you be able to do many more combos and most importantly an story line that takes you 8-12 hours to finish!better graphics is guaranteed but i hope they keep the music style and actually pay some one to make OST for it like the last game not just buying Singers music or something (ofcurse having the option to change the music in game with music on your Xbox or PC would be super cool)well i better stop demanding or it just goes on and on!
I think I'm one of the few gamers who really didn't care for Mirror's Edge...nice Easter Egg though.
Could be a chance that Mirror's Edge 2 is coming. I'm hoping for an open world city, more daring and death defying parkour moves, a better story and some online modes, all enhanced with Frostbite 2. DICE can prove it doesn't have to be controlled by EA (As in constantly releasing a new Battlefield game every 2 years!!!)
I just hope that mirror's edge 2 will be longer, or at lesat offer more replaiability than the last (yes you could replay levels for better times, but who the hell cares). Also I hope that the don't force any multiplayer/online/paid component as common EA fashion. I would also like to see some group/arena fighting and cool combat effects since the game is not all about running.
Hopefully the 2nd mirror's edge doesn't have that horrible gunplay or karate nonsense in it, or it's now incredible and not as bad as it was in the first. I really would prefer just the running, though.
@downloadthefile I think it just needed more weight to it. The combat felt a little floaty to me.

@noclue_27 I'd hardly say wanting a free-running game to be just free-running instead of also having guns and combat is wanting it to be nothing like the first game. I loved the portions of Mirror's Edge where you had to run away from guys, not where you had to pick up a gun and shoot them.

Very true. In fact, one of the acheivements is to never use a gun at all (sans sniper scene). And it is almost impossible to beat the speed runs if you try to fight anyone.
HAAHA DICE! i love those guys. they always put easter eggs in DLC! 2142 was in the back to karkand dlc and now this? HA! WIN!!! BRING BACK FAITH!!!
I wonder what other Easter Eggs are in the game? It's good to know that Mirror's Edge 2 isn't dead.
I would have been more excited if it was Red's pilot goggles, or a telephone or something from bf1942

1 Like That's an awesome Easter egg. The new DLC has some of my favorite maps in any FPS I've ever played. Scavenger's pretty fun too, and it feels unique to the genre. I was pleasantly surprised with what DICE brought to the table... Gives me hope for BF4.
I just hope they don't split up all the big and small maps into separate DLC again... I blame EA for that *great* idea >.>

Great, now that that's been demystified, we can stop hearing about that game, there being nothing left to games like this after you play through once. Ah, but the M-rating promises that I'm not missing anything by not playing it...

@alkaline_DnB @Mariner32 ps3 gets the content first. we just wanted to show everyone the easter egg. if you want to wait a week to see a player use a pc and find the exact same thing be my guest.
