its a good thing, people will rather wait some time, than get rushed game which turns out to be crap
Ubisoft's turn-based fantasy strategy sequel will now arrive on the PC on September 8.
Those looking forward to Might & Magic: Heroes VI will have to be a little more patient. Ubisoft announced today that the sequel has been delayed until September 8 in all territories. "We want to ensure that the quality of the game will go beyond your expectations," the company said in a brief statement.
Developed by Black Hole Games, creator of Armies of Exigo and Warhammer: Mark of Chaos, Might & Magic: Heroes VI is the latest installment in the long-running turn-based fantasy strategy series. Set in the fantasy world of Ashan, which was also the backdrop of the first-person action game Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, the title takes place several hundred years prior to the events of Heroes of Might & Magic V. Its plot will concern the downfall of the Falcon Empire--the predominant nation of human-dwelling "haven" cities (formerly known as the "castle," or "knight" town type)--and the rise of the Griffin Empire, the faction that held sway in Heroes V.
As with previous games in the series, Might & Magic: Heroes VI will feature some role-playing elements, such as a basic alignment system. The game will offer players choices when dealing with defeated foes that will let them go down an evil or good path. It will also feature boss battles and a reworked resource and town-conversion system, as well as many all-new units. The story will cover several military campaigns, which can be played in any order.

Gosh, how bout a bloody update then on the game itself. I wouldn't mind seeing more to see if it is going to be another upset like 5 was to me. I have high hopes and my curiosity needs to be satiated .
The 5th was pretty good, but to me, nothing beats the 2nd, that was one of the best strategy games I've ever played. Also, wasn't the series called Heroes of Might and Magic, not Might and Magic Heroes?
Have to pass on this. Knowing Ubi and their insidious DRM practices. I can't afford to let them muck around with MY COMPUTER. I just hope they royally screw the honest to goodness game buyers so we can all see how badly they treat the legitimate buyers. I don't believe a pirate is going to contemplate buying the game until it is hacked anyway. All the while the consumer pays the price. I can't deal with a company that shoots it's clients in the back like that, because they want more monies. Idiots!
Well...you have to do what you have to do to make the game shine and polished. Just PLEASE don't release it with that crappy UbiSlave DRM because I won't touch this product with a ten foot pole if it's chained to the Internet. Otherwise...carry on wisely!
Heroes 3 was an amazing game, but its been downhill since then. The games just seem to lack any cohesive story.
SolanOcard - I totally agree. The late game is never as exciting as the start/middle game. Sadly a weakness consistent through out all the games different versions. Kinda like the Civilization games.
I have not played this series since number III. I rarely finished a game once I started, it always got boring after a while, but I love the concept of the game. I wish they could do something (or maybe they already have) to make the later stages more interesting.
Awesome! I might be able to save enough money until then to buy a new pc! This is my favorite franchise of all time!
Ugh, thanks to steam I have had 49.99 locked away on vaporware...now for an extra few months. Was REALLY looking forward to this too. Going to go play HoMM3 now though...that will make things better.
I just hope it's worth the wait, like others, I'm not bothered at all with the delay as long as it's as good as the 3rd HOMM ( Which I'm still play regularly with friends) Keeping my fingers crossed on this one.
i pre-ordered this about a month ago because it was going to be released about may and i would get access to the beta, now they screw me AGAIN ... i dont mind the wait, but i would like my money back in the meantime as a sign of respect and customercare :) that was most likely the last time i ever pre ordered anything
Definitely not surprised by this. What was the previous release date? There was no marketing whatsoever... Hopefully the game will live up to the high expectations. IV and V were a bust. Who else misses the perfectness of III. Nothing was better.
@NeoTemplar - scary isn't it. This also happened to Deus Ex 3 as it was planned to be released in March. Man I wish developers just keep the lid on for release dates. Or maybe it's a marketing ploy to see who preorders it. But heck I already preordered the collector's edition nevertheless. I can wait as there are already many games to play beforehand.
Oh boy. So, originally they were probably going to ship a half-baked game. Very popular trend these day, sadly. What's up with that? That's like running a marathon and quitting at last 50 yards.
Thats cool have to many games this spring any how..With ds3 right around the corner and duke nuke em..Mk just released..Still enjoying crysis 2..Many more this year..Hope they realise that rage is also in sept.
More polish takes an extra month, a 3 month delay means there are way too many bugs to get away with shipping it.
