Meh, more Kinect. I'm not going to buy it as long as it spies on me, can't figure out that I like to sit when I game, and is generally an overpriced webcamera.
E3 2011: Internet sleuth spots range of new Microsoft domain registrations, including one for new Lionhead game; Dance Central 2, Kinect Sports 2, and Kinect Fun Labs also outed.
Internet super-sleuth Superannuation has spotted a list of new Microsoft-related domain registrations for a range of properties, one of which is for something called Fable: The Journey, rumored to be a Kinect title.
No further information is available about Fable: The Journey. However, Lionhead's top man, Peter Molyneux, has not shied away from displaying the studio's motion control ambition through the Kinect-enabled Project Milo.
Another high-profile domain name registered is one for Dance Central 2, the rumored successor to the Kinect hit Dance Central. The original Dance Central sold more than 1 million units and enjoyed strong critical praise. Further, series developer Harmonix has confirmed that it will debut a new game at next week's show.
Also included in the domain name registration spree was Kinect Sports Season 2. Like Dance Central, Kinect Sports was a launch title for Kinect and has sold more than 1 million units to date, making a sequel likely.
Lastly, a new domain was recently registered for something called Kinect Fun Labs. Whatever the case, Microsoft has promised that the Kinect library will triple in 2011, and bringing the above-mentioned titles to market this year would certainly help that process.
Eager gamers won't need to wait long to have answers, as Microsoft's 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo media briefing is scheduled for 9 a.m. PDT on Monday, June 6.
After watching the gameplay during Microsoft's E3 2011 press conference, I can safely say I'm thoroughly unimpressed with this one. An RPG on rails??? No thank you...
and Microsoft, please stop makiing every game Kinect, most of us dont have it, more of us think its stupid...
Fable was awesome, Fable:The Lost Chapters was even more awesome, Fable 2 was good, i liked that i could be female, customizing your looks was almost endless and i could have kids, magic was poor but combat was good, tho i miss bows. Fable 3, was so poorly done...it feels more like The Sims to me...WITHOUT customizing......please stop ruining Fable, Lionhead...
I really enjoyed Fable 2, but the ending was a big WTF moment for me lol, still need to play fable 3, gimme moneys...>_
I dont get all the hate on Fable 3. The game was awesome, and when you complete it, there's so much more to collect and explore...You have to play the game and truly immerse yourself in the world. Haters gonna hate, obviously
@SicklySunStorm - Same sentiment. I was wary of all the hype since Fable 2 turns out to be a disappointment and I was once again right. Good thing I got Fable 3 at a bargain.
Kinect Kinect Kinect u seen to be getting ol the love from MS,they don?t even seem to care about us or any new IP without Kinect creping in
Fable III wasn't an outright bad game - I've played a hell of a lot worse and less fun games, but that was the whole problem... seeing the plethora of potential it had, only for it to turn out the way it did... the fact that it seemed like two steps back from Fable II instead of two steps forward was the first massive nail in the coffin for me. I've always taken Molyneux with a massive pinch of salt, but he went too far with Fable III for me. I'll only ever play a Fable game now either on rent or when it becomes so aged that I can find it in a bargain bin for tuppence.
This series has become ridiculously easier with each iteration. So a kinect game seems perfect for the direction they have taken it. They must think we are just idiots incapable of enjoying deep game play or their plan was for it to become a casual game anyway. I'm done with Fable after 3.
Ah man, I don't have my hopes up obviously, but I am hoping that the microsoft conference isn't The Kinect Show again this year, it just doesn't interest me at all
Its funny how a single person can get a little success and then everything else after that moment of success just turns to crap... Fable 2 and 3 big vegas lighted sign suckage! I think its time microsoft kicked Peter to the curb and pick up another lead director to salvage this franchise before there isn't anything left too...
@Rocker6: You asked for a shooter... you got a shooter. Loads of old school shooters used to be on rails, if Child of Eden is anything like Rez (and it's supposedly set in the same world) there will be minimal chance to take different routes.
I could never get into Fable 3 after the failure that is Fable 2. Loved the first, can't stand the second.
The Fable sequels just suck, they have nothing from Fable 1, and WHY DOES THE MAGIC GET DUMBED DOWN EACH SEQUEL. First we go from having alot of spells that we can pick at any time, then Fable 2 we can only use 5 spells. Now with Fable 3 we get two spells, actually we get two spell gauntlets that apparently bandits can also use WTF! Is the main character of Fable 3 even a hero if he needs gauntlets to use magic?!?!?!?!? Not mention they have had the worst endings for Fable 2 and 3. Fable 2 had no boss, Fable 3 had the crawler who was easy and wasn't really memorable like fighting Jack Of Blades twice first with the Sword of Aeons then you fight him later as a Dragon. Now that was epic, easy but epic. Then you could wear Jack's mask or throw it in the lava. Now THAT was a great game. I just hope when they make a new Fable they make it a Prequel to Fable 1 and have the same gameplay mechanics.
Fable III. Nothing beats being a real estate mogul and making lots of pies while trying to save the world from a schizophrenic nightmare and a Henry Ford gone wild.
Peter Molyneux has lied so much to press and consumers alike ,I personally do not believe a word that spews out of his pompous mouth.
@pranta0013 Microsoft is releasing Age of Empires Online... I'm in the beta. Imagine Age of Empires with a world of warcraft like leveling, quest, crafting, itemization style. So when you do a quest you may get a really nice bow that then you can use to equip all your archers from there on out. You have a persistent city and daily quests and PvP quests as well. At this point the biggest weakness is no formal auction house so you have to send all the items you want to trade through mail.
Someone can make a job out of trolling the internet watching domain names change? Also, Fable needs to be taken away from Molyneux for a while. Make a Black and White 3!
I don't understand most of the design choices in Fable these days. It has the whole "emote" system, but every NPC is so bland and generic that there is no reason to engage with them... including the dog which is basically a metal detector. The "moral" system has no gray area (aside from the opening decision in Fable 3), so it all boils down to whether or not you want to have an good or evil looking character. You get a customizable sword, but it's one of the worst swords in the game so you never really use it (except in the beginning when it's at it's most generic and you have nothing else). It's like Peter M forgot how to make engaging games or something.
Fable was the first reason i bought my Xbox.....but i was let down hard................but i still bought everyone of them i dont know why maybe peter makes me.....ahhhh...kinect with fable i dont know..........
Let me guess in this game it is a on rail shooter/ hybrid combat game where you can also defeat enemies by farting them in the face.
Let's all take a moment to laugh hysterically at Peter Molyneux. Maybe this time he'll tell us that you can control the axis of the earth by playing fable...
Fable needs to get RPG, and allow me to make more choices that affect the kingdom. I loved that crap.
I'm done with Fable. It's been on a steady decline since the first one was released. Peter is always making promises he can't keep; never fails. I'd like to see this one do well. I really would. As for me purchasing it and playing it though...probably not going to happen.
The next Fable needs more rpg elements, armor, items, and enemies. They also need to put actual bosses in the game. Like dragons or other big creatures. It's not beyond saving if they listen to the fans.
I wish microsoft should try to release a new version of Age of Empire .... it's been so long since they released this .... every year they release Halo, Announce a Gears of WaR and try to release a Fable title ... So things are becoming boring ... :(
the fable game had big potential but Microsoft Destroy it. 1 game awesome 2 game its ok 3 game crap!
Microsoft, if you release this as a good game, MAKE SURE IT'S RELEASED ON PC and lay off the 3D will you, it's ruining the fps Thanks...
Dear Microsoft and Molyneux, no more Fable. It's become less and less of an rpg and more and more of a sims game with slight rpg elements. The story has just become obnoxious and lacks engagement, the good/bad/neutral system is terribly designed, it's moving further from fantasy and more into steampunk, you still haven't added your promised "open world" since the announcement for Fable 1, and you're just milking the series (which more and more people aren't buying anyways). Fable 1 was your last decent game, so please stop already. Thanks, Love Everyone.
Please no more fable the series has only gone down hill since fable 1 dumbed down the series to much story line for each new game got worse choices fail, choices stopped really mattering touch lame, yes i want to dance with this guy so he will like me, yes i want to hold a grown mans hand to lead the way FAIL!!! JUST STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is Microsoft's E3: Another Halo, Fable, Forza, and Gears (the typical...yawn). And a whole lot of Kinect stuff. Oh, they'll try to make Xbox and "entertainment center." But, I thought it already was one.... I want to see something new from Microsoft, but I'm afraid all I will see is sequels to Microsoft's typical and Kinect. I want to see a new Blockbuster hit exclusive for Xbox. I'm afraid it won't be this year.
i dont care what they do with fable.. i wont be buying another one. Last one i boutght was fable 2.. that game was worse than the first. So nah....
Surely Fable 3 was enough to drive away the remnants of the Fable fanbase? The franchise has only gone downhill since the first game.If they continue down the path they're taking with Fable then the next game is just going to be a sub-standard hack'n'slash without enough RPG elements to warrant the genre classification.
I agree with @hakkafixi not interested in kinect either just hope MS is not shifting all their focus to that.
