Michel Ancel leaving Ubisoft?

Ancel is not allowed to leave Ubisoft without Beyond Good & Evil 2. ;__;

There shouldn't be any exclusivity to begin with.

He's too good for Ubisoft. I'm amazed Michel Ancel stayed there as long as he has.

I hope he will leave in no time. As soon as he opens his new studio, he can start working in the spiritual successor to Beyond Good & Evil.

I'd leave too, if they delayed something I did and left it for dead as a result.

ubisoft shouldnt of delayed the game....pissed a lot of people off...even their own people.

but they are bringing watchdogs to wiiU.... so i forgive them... plus they made zombiU for us.

I like how Ubisoft states that they may work on a future project with  Ancel if he so chooses to. He's leaving you for a reason, he doesn't want to work with you anymore. Ancel is going to finish working on Rayman Legends because he feels that he owes the public that and then he is gone.

Ubisoft's statement didn't really clarify anything.  If he still plans to leave once Legends is finished then if he hasn't left yet it's a no-brainer that he's still working on it.

IDEA, scrapp all rayman legends and make it a final game, put every single villiain on the game, make a legion of villians, at the end of game, make a very hard battle and make rayman die to kill all vilians 

Ubisoft is becoming evil, they screw us over with Tyranny of King Washington and now Rayman, I've never played Rayman but how they fucked over the Wii U fans is not right since they are "trying to improve relations" Here's an idea, Ubisoft, try taking a page out of Rocksteady's book and start making actual decent games. Don't follow the leader with EA/Activision and release yearly CoD games that don't differ much each year. Assassin's Creed 4: Death of a Franchise starring Gary Busey as a piece of poop Assassin in Brazil. No thank you, Ubisoft. After Tyranny of King Washington, it's clear, here's 25 cents go and buy yourself some originality!

Best of luck to him. Better go work elsewhere than be constantly restricted and pulled back by a company that doesn't appreciate him.

Why did I buy a Wii U when I have an Xbox / Playstation 3 / Gaming PC?  Simply for Rayman Legends, one of my all time favorite series.  I patiently waited for Rayman to get released tomorrow but instead just found out that it was postponed.  Well Ubisoft, you can go find other suckers to buy your games because I won't be one of them.  If only Ubisoft realized how many people would have bought the game this month....Instead it is released in the fall when a bunch of AAA games come out.   Smart move....

I wish him luck, love his games.

So happy to see him trying for new grounds. He's a great asset for the gaming industry and, surely, will find his proper space soon enough. I also hope Ubi realizes how wrong was their decision to postpone Rayman launch for the Wii U.

If this does happen, I guess that will be the final nail in the coffin for Beyond Good & Evil 2. What a shame!

I bet he won't leave by his own will. I'll believe it when i see it. Spineless threats don't mean much. 

I wonder if this is good or bad news for Beyond Good & Evil 2. If this is true, and if that game stays at Ubisoft it is all but doomed, as I believe Ancel was the driving force behind it. If however he leaves and gets to take the IP with him... could be the start of something wonderful.

Well looks like the final straw did fall. I know I have read alot of developers have gotten pretty sick of Ubisoft's publishers tactics which have closely followed that of EA. I for one would enjoy seeing them break-a-way from Ubisoft but would be afraid they would go into making small tablet mobile games instead of large triple A productions that Ancel and his team are known for. A beyond good and evil sequel could only be done by him. Once a legendary team of developers like him go small independent they usually never go back to big games anymore and either retire or pump out small games from then on. 

Which ever path Ancel takes, I'll be the first in line to buy or take a look at such a fine team of developers next creation.

Doesn't seem surprising but I doubt it's because of Rayman alone, it's probably a lot of little things Ubisoft has done that over time adds up, he's probably like that's it, Imma burn the building down like Milton in Office Space lol

seen this coming when i saw how the development team took the news that they were going to have to port there game over to the Hd consoles.so him leaving wasn't a big surprise to anyone.

Can't really blame him since Ubisoft fucked the entire development team over by making them stay around for longer.
