Konami's portable stealth action game pushed back two weeks, will also be available in a green PSP hardware bundle with 2GB memory stick, voucher for downloadable movie.
In keeping with its peripatetic title, the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker isn't in a hurry to get to stores. Sony today announced that the Konami-published stealth action game won't arrive until June 8. Previously it had been dated for May 25.
The news came from Sony as the electronics giant announced a limited-edition PSP hardware bundle for the game set to arrive June 8, "day and date with stand-alone game." The bundle includes a "Spirited Green" version of the handheld, a UMD copy of Peace Walker, a 2GB memory stick, and a voucher for a downloadable movie yet to be announced (movie for US residents only). Those who pick up the bundle will also get access to a pair of unlockable in-game goodies in the form of a Fox-branded camouflage uniform and stealth gun feature.
A sequel to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and previous PSP entry Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Peace Walker puts players in the role of Naked Snake/Big Boss once more and gives them a look at the earliest stages of his Outer Heaven mercenary group. Series creator Hideo Kojima and Konami are emphasizing Peace Walker as a "full-scale sequel" in the Metal Gear series and not a spin-off or side project.
One of the big new additions to Peace Walker is cooperative multiplayer action for up to four players. Gamers can pick one of four versions of Snake, each with its own equipment and focus on stealth, combat, or a mix of the two.
Peace Walker also plays with the standard structure of past Metal Gear games. Players will be able to revisit previously completed missions, and Konami is borrowing a page from its recent Metroid-inspired Castlevania titles to give them a reason to. Snake will earn new abilities as he progresses through the game, enabling him to reach secret areas from earlier levels on a repeat visit.

I am playing the japanese version now. The game is freaking awesome even if I don't understand a single word they're saying.
Black is boring, this Spirited Green psp is hot. Thank god it's not olive drab that would induce vomitting.
Sure wish this was coming exclusive to the PS3 and not the psp. But whatever, I shall still get Peace Walker. Really cool psp though.
love the games(MGS series). Hey luv you sony but why not come out with a PSPgo Bundle? I'd buy it =$!
@ JuanJo_H Agreed. Black does look the best. If the bundle came in black, I'd be all over it. Same thing with the DSI XL. I don't really want a bronze or burgundy handheld. Give me glossy black or matte black and I'll be fine
@Alan1187 you still can buy the PSN version of MGS1 and play it on any type of PSP regardless if it was phat or slim or 3000.
I'd consider it if it was a PSP Go, but a 3000? Eh... I'd prefer it be a Go just so I could buy that PSN copy of MGS1 and take it on the go.
What PSP model is that? I'm not a PSP expert, but it's definitely not a PSPgo. Is it a rebadged 3000, or an upgraded model? Somebody please answer, I'm a huge MGS fan (MGS1 is the best game EVER), and the main reason I'm considering a PSP is for the Metal Gear games. Holding out on a PS3 for the MGS4 bundle was the best decision I ever made.
@Ether Twilight I'm not a handheld guy, simply feel that they would sell more on the PS3 console. Let me ask you a question: with the success that Modern Warfare 2 had, do you think they would of had the same success if it strictly came out on the PSP? My answer to that is no, and in my opinion is a waste of time and money to develop a game that is big name for the PSP. Why would anyone want to choose the graphics of the PSP over the PS3??
Now I get to play MGS when hiding from my boss at work. That scenario may just make my head explode.
Since I had my psp stolen a couple months ago I put a preorder down today at gamestop on this baby,CANT WAIT!!!!
@BB210 By that logic, there should simply be no handheld gaming devices out on the market. Conversely, should all handheld games be stripped ports of their console brethren? At any rate, my PSP almost never gets any playtime. This should give me a reason to dust off the ol' girl.
perfect color for me one of the best games for the psp mmm time to upgrade this time ahhh release it alreadyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!:)
@cjasko94 I agree the controlls in MGS portable ops were much better, I don't like the new controls, it's way to hard to controll your crossair. But I'm still buying it
good, now I can still play disgaea 2 and other games such as patapon and lunar which I haven't played yet
I played the demo and big boss, and is it me or does he sound sad when you're picking different classes?
@andalore True. I mean Final Fantasy 8 alone takes up about 1.3 gig. 2 gig just dont cut the mustard.
If my 2000 broke or stopped working between now and the time this comes out, I would definitely get this.
I'd only consider getting this if it came with a huge memory stick instead of just 2 gigs, That way I could buy games off the PSN cos the UMDs are outdated
