Metal Gear Solid 3 dated
Snake Eater sneaks into the US on November 17, one month before the Japanese release.
Fans of Solid Snake are one month away from the jungle adventure of a lifetime. Konami announced today that Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, the concluding chapter in the stealth action trilogy, will launch in the US on November 17.
The brainchild of Konami producer Hideo Kojima, Snake Eater looks to introduce sweeping changes to both the gameplay and the storyline of the famed series. Since the game is set in the 1960s, it is not yet clear whether the Solid Snake seen in the early trailers and demos is indeed the same covert agent players took control of in the original game. The jungle setting means that Snake's skill at camouflage will determine his ability to hide from guards this time around, and if he wants to stay healthy, he'll have to eat some of the local wildlife.
As with 2001's Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, the US version of this title will be released first. Snake Eater will hit Japan on December 16.
