Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance VR DLC out next week

30 challenge missions for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance locked to PlayStation 3 in the US; available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 internationally.

The first batch of DLC for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be released next week, Konami has announced.

The VR Missions DLC will add 30 challenges to the game, and are designed to emulate the aesthetic of the virtual reality training parts of previous Metal Gear games.

In North America the VR Missions DLC is exclusive to the PlayStation 3, where it will be offered for free from March 12 until April 3.

In Europe the pack will launch on March 13 and cost £1.99 on PlayStation 3, or 240 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance scored an 8.5 in its GameSpot review.

the only good news would be that they are not making any more in the series and are making a real metal gear game instead fingers crossed

@nemesis19836332 For your infromation MGR was made by a different dev team, there's nothing to worry about if they continue working on VR Missions. And i'm sure  about there being a good amount of MGS fans that really enjoy Revengeance because it's simply a well executed hack and slash game and they want more of it.

@RustedTruck650 i no it was i never said it wasnt it was made platinum games and it really was not a well executed hack and slash not even close compare it things like devil may cry the old ones not the new one and god of war they are the best hack and games and MGR does not even come close, the whole slashing things to pieces was good for about an hour then just got boring and after that was gone all u had was some really bad attempts of humour and the odd really boring boss battles

yay! Free! I guess I'll have to wait a little longer for Gray Fox skin and Fox Blade because I didn't buy MGR from Gamestop; which is a bunch of BS.

how come it's not free for everybody....?

@BFKZ should have done research on which one to buy. m$ brought this world of exclusive content crap to consoles, so now sony and nintendo are playing fire with fire.

@CaptainGamespot @BFKZ Thats total BS tbh, why give special treatment when you're gonna lose respect from someone anyway? being us who bought it on xbox.

@BFKZ Things like this always happen. Like there is no Gran Turismo 5 The Signature Edition in US. It was an exclusive to Europe, Australia and New Zealand or The Gran Turismo 5: Academy edition is also available exclusively in Pal regions.

C mon people the conference and the info& specs were right according how early show the content. Sony is dosiing the information they need to take In mind thr E3 & counter strategy of microsoft, hardware details will show later the main purpose was tp reduced stupd speculations &assumptions. You know more than before so that was the deal.

I thought it it was for Ps3 only , did not they said it will be only for ps3 before relase or it was  a mistake from the gamespot?

It's quite stupid that they are releasing this like two weeks after the game is released.

I have a running theory that many others share that since Metal Gear Solid 2, every game, including this pile of crap, exists within the VR world. It's even theorized that MGS2 didn't actually happen. Raiden is probably still strapped down naked to a table somewhere experiencing cyborg fantasies.

As each new game comes out, people keep on buying them no matter how ridiculously stupid they become. They will continue buying them until the series is dead. In fact the selection for societal sanity program is working wonderfully.

@BIOJECT MGS4 and MGR are great games. Whar about them was so bad?

I think you live in virtual reality.  Game is awesome, shut it.

@Katra Exactly my point. People could feed you shit and you would think it tasted like cake.

@BIOJECT @WeskerTeam @Katra  The time paradox reference was because Ocelot obviously lived in the future. In killing him then the future wouldn't have played out like it was suppose to, since MGS3 is based in the past, obviously.

@WeskerTeam @BIOJECT @Katra Actually Metal Gear Solid 3 is one of my favorites. I liked the story in MGS2 better, but loved the gameplay more. I was referring to MGS4 and forward. But I think even MGS3 exists within the VR world. For example there was that part where if you kill Ocelot the game ends and the Colonel says that you can't do that because you'll create a time paradox. Maybe it was just a joke. MGS3 felt more like it was a movie telling the events of Big Boss rather than actually following the real Big Boss.

@BIOJECT @Katra Woah... MGS2 was also my favorite but if you think MGS3 was bad then your opinion is about as relevant as your theory.

glad i got this for ps3. its odd xbox in the U.S. doesn't get it though.

Dareitus

@prestodaniel Sony paid exclusive. There are more Xbox's in NA than there are PS3's, so by paying Platinum Games / Konami not to sell the DLC on Xbox in NA they are trying to get people who have both systems to buy the PS3 version or people who don't have a PS3 would (haha hopefully?) buy a PS3.

It would have cost them extra to have exclusivity in Europe and Asia but the PS3 is already more popular in those regions and they don't need the extra push, especially from a smaller title like MGR:R.
