Medal of Honor awarded Battlefield 3 multiplayer beta
EA offering Limited Edition purchasers of EALA's next effort guaranteed access to upcoming DICE-developed shooter.
Gamers are used to paying a premium for the limited edition of any given title, but EA will be bucking that trend with the release of Medal of Honor. Earlier this month, the publisher said that it would be packing in a handful of exclusive and early-access in-game weapons and camouflage to Limited Edition purchasers, all for the standard $60 price tag. PlayStation 3 gamers who pick up the package are even being offered a free copy of Medal of Honor Frontline.
Today, EA announced that it would be sweetening that deal even further. Those who pick up the Medal of Honor Limited Edition will also be afforded access to the multiplayer beta test for EA Dice's Battlefield 3.
EA has yet to announce a launch date or platforms for Battlefield 3 and declined to specify whether the offer would be extended to all three platforms that Medal of Honor will be available for. However, the publisher did note that the beta window will open up within 12 months of MOH's October 12 ship date.
The first installment in the series not to be set during World War II, Medal of Honor will follow a group of elite commandos called Tier 1 Operators during missions behind enemy lines in Afghanistan. With the single-player campaign being handled by EALA, DICE has taken the reins on Medal of Honor's online multiplayer.

Dice, EA PLZ......... also bring Battlefield 3 on the consoles (PS3)
I look forward to any battlefield iteration...but I would love for them to make 2143
Planet side 2 from ubisoft would-This maybe, be even Greater to hope for ?? 2 bad i never heard they would make another game.
First Sorry My English! It would be great to make it moore massive game , 64- up to 256 at most, but if EA and Dice did play planet side in its times?? learn from there whats missing. i love battlefield games, But still planet side had som futures that really made the game even nicer than BF games :)) . (now planet side is old, and at the time u really need hardcoore PC and at the time u also needed A nice ADSL. Now this is set for everyone and the time is great for EA and Dice to take futures into BF games. Take that game into battlefield series would be nice. Not the scifi part, put the massive big world and many many many possibilites thats missing in games last few years. ( one future is : squads 1capt,every squad has a 1capt -a boss in the group, the 1cpt can draw wayes to follow for the squad at the Map so the squad can follow 1cpt order in really nice order (if u have a nice 1cpt.. This is one of 50 possibilities BF games miss. Sorry My English!
hopefully they add the classic battlefield 2 maps into this as well like highway Tampa just with three or four teams of 32 players
Althought I'm overexcited about BF3, I can't think it being any other like failure BC2. I demand 128-256 players, 2-5km maps, HUGE battles. Ditch the consoles, THIS ONE TIME, it will sell like hotcakes. I don't know about MoH, I think I'll buy it for the singleplayer but multiplayer will be more or less like BC2 two day "fun".
OMG finally battlefield 3. They do mean Battlefield 3 and not Battlefield bc3? As in after mc2? I been waiting for that game forever to be announced.
@lock44 halo stayed true? thats hwy the whole new slayer gameplay changed from every other halo drastically
EA is sending so much these days, from moh beta to bf beta then bbc2 vietnam dlc and map pack 5 jeeze settle EA don't rush things
People are getting confused. They never said "Battlefield: Bad Company 3" was in the works. They are developing "Battlefield 3." There was a series before the Bad Company story. Pay attention, kids.
@darkvalen If there's nobody to complain around, they wouldn't fix the game! I tried the beta and... look bellow...
@lock445 Are you serious? Campaign has nothing to do with MW2's. MW2's was just rubbish, an excuse for a singleplayer tutorial for multiplayer. That "emotional" Russian invasion on America was just funny. But those at EA guys really talked to special ops guys and got their feedback so that story and campaign would be as realistic as possible. But multiplayer really let me down. It truly has no inspiration. And the engine, that frostbite engine... It's just a waist of time and effort if I can't blow the damn wall! And by adding that engine, it automatically started to fell like BC2. So they have two options (imo): Change the engine (1-2 years of delay) or just give me the destruction 2.0! This game is the camper-friendliest. No killcam, no red-dot-when-you-shoot or spot button. DICE Fix those problems!
Ha! They have ZERO confidence in this game! MW2-copy Campaign Battlefield-copy Multiplayer ZERO Originality ZERO Sales! MoH used to be more fun than COD. Now it seems COD got so fun they milked it so damn hard the old hag's practically begging to be put down. And now they lost MoH's heart and replaced it with another's! What's going on with FPS's today?? It seems like Halo is the only one to stay true to itself and players.
I hope the release free DLC for MoH as they did with BFBC2!
@stevkh5 You're welcome.
@Gelugon_baat thanks for the info man. Nice to see some people that can actually answer your question instead of a bunch of jacka$$es.
In one way its a good idea, but in another its not because i fear that people may just buy this game so they can play battlefield 3. Well i guess we will have to see.
@stevkh5 GameSpot is correct in stating the game title that beta is concerned with. If you would do some research, you would know that EA has announced the beta for Battlefield 3 on their site for Medal of Honor. It's straight from EA's mouth, so this news article is as reliable as it can get if its source is official in nature.
Hmmmm seems like EA are trying to do anything to promote this game. I was going to buy it but I'm really not sure now.
@Joker1232003: This game is coming to consoles as well.
XD you guys keep complaining and complaining about Battlefield 3 and Medal of Honor, stop judgeing stuff until you see it in action, it's pathetic to see, if you don't like FPS like these then stop wasteing comment space.
I'd love to see Battlefield 2142-style gameplay in the Frostbite engine. Although BF 2142 was never quite as polished as BF 2, I loved the 64-player Titan airship battles and excellent mech walkers and hover tanks. In Frostbite it would be outstanding. A straight port to the new engine, perhaps, if resources are unavailable for a full BF 2143?
The funny thing is, in a two year period there will have been about 6 major FPS releases all involving roughly the same thing, and the sad thing is that most people will buy them. The new COD looks ridiculously stupid. It's just a rehash of MW2 with different character models. The only FPS that will be worth the money this year is Crysis 2, oh, and Fallout New Vegas!
In my opinion, companies to to focus on a fresh market and throw out useless FPS games. I mean, seriously, how many FPS games set int he WWII-modern era are we going to play and replay? Essentially they make the same game with new character models and a few new perks and people shell out the cash for it. What about original IPs like Heavy Rain, Shadow of the Colossus, Braid, hell, any platformer/adventure game that doesn't involve iron site aiming. Top down dungeon crawlers, anything but another FPS, the market is too over-saturated.

Battlefield 3 will be on the PC, It wont be a Console version I think Bad Company Will be a series of battlefield's for the console. Be very very surprised if Battlefield 3 isn't PC exclusive
battlefield bad company 2 -------> get Medal of honor beta --------> get battlefield 3 beta bwah marketing can be such a nuisance sometimes
Yeah, but its not Bad company 3. So don't really care about the beta and as for the early-access in-game weapons and camouflage, no point, you can unlock that and i'm sure most of us who will be playing MOH will be pro FPS, so it will not take us long to unlock it anyway. Think if you really want people to get the game, you need to offer some weapons that can't be unlocked if people pre order.
Don't bother wasting your money on this, it will be another console port on Pc. Forget it, Medal of honor is a disaster, and so will BF3, thanks to consoles. Get Red Orchestra Heroes of Stalingrad next February instead. Far better, it's realistic, there's tanks and vehicles and it's made for Pc only.
@hankmardukas go troll somewhere else troll Also ps3 has been profitable recently. And the term "dead last" implies that they are far behind. Use the term "last" next time troll.
@stevkh5 The box says battlefield 3
"ps3's are the best because they cost £300 but all the componants inside add up to £600 and there software is not out dated at all." Guess that's why they're still in dead last like thay've always been.
So Battlefield 3 is no longer a PC exclusive? YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !
wtf, where did that left field comment come from. I didn't realize we were parked so close to Fanboy stadium. PS3s are best because this comment has jack crap to do with Medal of Honor or Battlefield and since I am a moron too.
ps3's are the best because they cost £300 but all the componants inside add up to £600 and there software is not out dated at all.
@EdibleFood yeah very clever. I read the title, but I'm asking if anyone heard anything concrete because Bad Company 2 did not finish the storyline so its very possible that this could be the 3rd game and not just Battlefield 3. Gamespot news aren't particularly reliable anyway.
Good deal, if you're into those types of games
well played EA, well played
@Microsteve Cheating and hacking is still a problem on Xbox's :| If a game has decent security built in, and the server's admins care, there shouldn't be any problems.
@mctc22 PC online is spoilt by cheats, that's why I got an xbox and also on console everybody has the same equipment so you get better balanced matches
Does anyone else excited for BF3 on xbox. I am also a pc gamer who loved BF2, but i want to see just how much DICE can do. Sorry for you PC guys, though.

When I got BC2 on steam, I got the Medal of Honor beta, so if I get Medal of Honor I get the Battlefield 3 beta. Wonder if they will just keep flip floppin foward like that to promote their games. Oh and @drummerdickens Ive go BC2 on pc and console and in my opinion it is much tougher on the PC, I think maybe cause EVERYONE is a little more accurate, not just me. So it really forces you to be a little more cautious and really think about what your doing. Just my opinion. Oh of course Im talking about the multiplayer.

@stevkh5 read the title?
@Dantefan1 - Frontlines available for both...should be free for both as well. Hey if thats the route they want to go with that, fine. Plus I didnt type LiKe ThIs. If you cant tolerate a handle being like that then you'll have a short career as a gamer lol. I could see if I typed a paragraph like that...
so is this Battlefield 3 or Bad company 3?
@data9192 I love shooters on the PC just because of all the personalization options that usually come hand-in-hand. Anything from Valve, for example. I wouldn't really call it "growing up" though. Shooters on the console virtually eliminate cheaters/hackers. You gotta appreciate that.
