Mass Effect 3 owners unlock N7 armour in Dead Space 3

EA's latest cross-promotion gives iconic threads, but gamers will need a save file on the same platform to get N7 armour for both Isaac and Carver.
Dead Space 3 will give Isaac Clarke the chance to don his own suit of N7 armour, provided players have a Mass Effect 3 save file sitting on their hard drive.
Commander Shepard's iconic armour has been modified slightly to allow for Clarke's headgear, and at present it's not know what in-game benefits the armour has - in previous Dead Space games each different suit of armour has offered various degrees of protection from Necromorph enemies.
There's no way to unlock the armour between platforms, so if gamers intend to play Dead Space 3 on Xbox 360, they'll need an Xbox 360 Mass Effect 3 save.
Isaac's co-op buddy John Carver also gets his own N7 kit with a red tint.
EA is no stranger to cross-promotion, offering a similar Mass Effect costume incentive for last year's Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning as well as Isaac Clarke himself in Skate 3.
Dead Space 3 will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on February 5 in the US and February 8 in Europe. Check out GameSpot's previous Dead Space 3 coverage for more information.

@Vodoo Well, to be fair they could tie the save file to your origin account. Kinda like they did to the BF 3 N7 dog tag.

1 Like It's odd to me too see people really upset over 100% optional bonus content that's as minor as armor.
@Senor_Kami Maybe in the future you'll start not finding odd when some next gen games started being released in parts like dlc's .... maybe then you'll remenber why some douches were so upset about some piece of crappy armor or disposable optional content !Just saying!
I like that they do this stuff...although the N7 armor in Kingdoms of Amalur was only good for the first thirty minutes of gameplay :(.
just the saves file?? that's easy to arrange... i'm selling my!! after the deal is done i send you by e-mail or even a cd with it! ( delivery taxes will be charged)

@BladeStrike1234 If you finish that game while wearing the armor Isaac and the necromorph's realize their differences and instead of fighting they talk things out and go live in happy land forever and ever.

1 Like That's a nice little bonus :) I won't be buying into any of those micro transactions though - but I have played ME3 on my PS3 so I am very happy about this little freebie... hope the armour is actually good though and not irrelevant come chapter 5
3 Like Admittedly, things like this - crossover between games that can't really exist in the same universe - really draws me out of the experience.
Dead Space is headed down a terrifying path. And not the good kind of terrifying. The EA kind.

@Imperiacommando @yonners232 complaining makes more fun then defending, when defending something you need to be sensibly reasonable about a subject (unless defending britney spears), but when complaining you can let go of your fantasy and come up with the most idiotic of complaints and defend them without reason...believe me, I heard some good ones...

There is a little problem right there, first they must persuade ME3 owners to buy DS3.
They are on a very wrong path it seems but i ll make my last decision after reading lots'o'reviews...
@cyberarmy They don't care who buys the game as long as people are buying it. How is this wrong? EA published Mass Effect and they publish Dead Space, no other explanation needed as to why they created this armor.
That is sad for me, I started Mass Effect series on Xbox 360 and I have Dead Space 1,2 on PS3 but that's okay, I can live without the N7 Rig and to me, this is just for looks. Looking forward to Dead Space 3.
Hopefully this won't be like Dead Space 2, where all the bonus armors ended up being crap.
@unreal101 The bonus armor had 10 additional item slots, bonus armor and better stats toward certain weapons how is that crap? if anything they were way OP for anything below hardcore difficulty.
