Mass Effect 3 DLC news next week?

BioWare rep says studio will reveal details on next expansion for space RPG "hopefully" next week.
BioWare will finally reveal details on the next Mass Effect 3 expansion "hopefully" next week, community developer Chris Priestly wrote on Twitter recently (via OXM).
"We'll reveal details as soon as the team is comfortable it is locked and complete. Hopefully next week," Priestly said.
BioWare last month released two new "teaser" images believed to be for upcoming Mass Effect 3 downloadable content. The content is rumored to be a significant expansion.
In December, BioWare teased the next single-player expansion for Mass Effect 3, saying it will be "all hands on deck for this one." Additionally, Mass Effect chief composer Sam Hulick has revealed he will contribute to the new content after no involvement with the game's Leviathan and Omega DLC.
Also set to make a return for the mystery content is film and voice actor Seth Green (Family Guy, Austin Powers). Green has performed the voice of Normandy pilot Joker since the series first took flight.

1 Like I'm really looking forward to this. I've stabled ME3 until all the DLC's dropped, and I think once this hits I'm going to buy all 3 and binge it out.

@Wrex13 You do realize that they are often hobbled by publication bans, right? They can't always dish out details just because you ask for them. Not only that, but the guy probably gets hundreds of messages.
6 Like all the dlcs of ME3 so far suck. Nowhere near the quality of the ME2 dlcs. From Ashes was a joke. 1 hour of content at best for an exorbitant price, at launch day. Leviathan adds a bit of Lore (poor satisfaction to those who actually know what the story was supposed to be and what it became), has some some interesting info in there, but the detective parts are too basic. The actual combat gameplay is good though, but also short. (Finished it all in less than 3 hours.) And Omega was a missed oportunity. Brings absolutely nothing to the series. No lore, no story. They could have taken the chance to explain how the elusive man went from the guy you see at the begining to the guy with the messed ujp face you see in the end. They could have offered simple Lore on the station itself. Nothing. Saves for the combat maps of increased difficulty (which are welcome) it is hardly worth the highest price of all so far.
I just hope this last DLC actually is as great as they are trying to imply.

From Ashes brings in one of the best characters in the series with his character providing parallels to Shepard's story. Nevermind taking Javik on Thessia alters the mission.
Omega does add to the universe, its the final development of Aria's character and its based on your decisions.

Ummmm. they in fact...already did. Did you miss the last Cerberus log in the Cerberus HQ mission where it is a log of TIM's Reaper implant operation?
It seems to me once again, you missed part of the story that would address your criticisms. Sorry, but those that bash ME3 ignore parts of the story that refutes their criticisms because they have to bash ME3 because they just have to. ITS ALL IN THE NARRATIVE.
@texasgoldrush @TigusVidiks I'm with goldrush on this one for the most part. I agree I found Omega a little lacking, but mostly because I wanted there to be more of it. Aria is such a great character. From the Ashes was great. Javik is one of the best characters in the game, with some of the best interaction with Shep and the squad. Leviathan, equally as awesome. And it's true, it is all in the narrative. Just about every question people have about the game can be answered by talking to your squad mates and other NPCs, reading the codex entries and listening to background chatter.

People can have an opinion (and I agree the DLC has sucked so far, from ashes should have been shipped with the game, the LA Mass Effect for the second DLC with a giant squid that you can not even fight, and a battle royal on Omega that like stated above didn't add anything to the story at all. Also 1 stupid entry in a log that someone may or may not find is not a good answer, and if I remember correctly was added in the EC update that was needed to close some of the largest plot holes in history for any story ever told.
So once again you just tell people they are wrong, like your some video game master we should all listen too. You have posted that you love the game, accept that most people didn't and let them have their say and they are not wrong. It may be all in the narrative, but that narrative still lacks in quality and, face it, most people hated it.
Deal with it dude and let people express their disappointment in a subpar product you think is great. You are not the Video Game master of as all that we should even listen to anything you say, your on everyone with a different opinion for days now, stop it, we get it, you like a game we all find to be subpar. You really think he read your post and said "gee I missed a quick log entry that would have made me love this game! If only I had read a paragraph to try and close a plot hole to my Red, Blue, or Green ending giving by a new character with no boss fight at all, or any cool battles with my Military built up for nothing for hours of game play."
1 Like Looking forward for this! I haven't played any DLC yet, other than from ashes. I want to make a final play through with all dlc's on deck, a beautiful and well deserved goodbye to the trilogy.
5 Like The "Leviathan" and even the "Omega" DLC was more interesting (to me) than the main ME3 game for most of it's parts. Too bad, many are already worn out on the EA/Bioware scheme & the RGB-color ending, to give it another shot. Maybe in the years to come...
At least my choices in ME3 matter more than any other Bioware game. Oh wait, take off your nostalgia glasses, in most Bioware games, only the final decision matters...are you a goody goody saint or are you a baby puncher. KOTOR is just like this, Jade Empire is another example, even ME1.
1 Like @texasgoldrush @sethfrost Not quite. In ME3 the ends are all the same other then the color and one quick breath. In KOTOR you get very different cut scenes. ME1 didn't change too much but ME2 had different ends as well. The other games with different endings from them are both Dragon Ages. Of all their games ME3 your choices have the least overall impact on anything at all really.

@JulyAeon @maxrang i wish they Balanced it out Horde mode isn't fun after awhile,See Qualitly SinglePlayer Action & DLC along with MultiPlayer DLC but Single player got Short Changed for the MP oh well i'll stop cause EA doesn't Care
Please, please, please ditch DLC and go back to creating old fashioned "Expansion packs" where you got a decent chunk of game that actually improved on the original game.

I have long ditched Mass Effect 3 now and just got bored of it. Honestly I still think PResident Evil 6 was worth the exchange of Mass Effect 2 and 3. I don't know what it is but ME just made me bored tired..
3 Like I ask you Bioware. You can make all the DLC$ in the world and still Shepard would end up semi dead. So what's the point? You don't even play as Shepard in ME4. So how do you justify all these dlc$?
@berserker66666 oh god really? let me tell you something.. if you are a human being.. you are going to die. We all die sometime. So, I ask you, why are you doing whatever it is you are doing? Shepard at least did everything to save the galaxy. He/she had a purpose. Wouldn't you do the same? Shepard deserves to rest in peace afer everything. Neo died too.. Goku died too.. what is important in our lives, is what we learn and leave behind. That's why I like to see other important events in the ME universe.

Aria's story wasn't done, its now finished in Omega based on Shepards treatment of her throughout the DLC.
The Reapers creators were not revealed, now they are.
Now if the rumors are true, the Keepers will be more fleshed out and their secrets revealed.
The point is to expand the story.
Take the ending of Mafia II....just because so and so "dies" doesn't make expanding his story meaningless which Mafia II's DLC did.

Spoilers for Mafia II....
The "Joe's Adventures" DLC let you play a character that in the ending of the main game, his fate is left ambiguous, possibly him getting whacked.
But it still added to the story and was worth it despite his fate.
2 Like @JayRADA @texasgoldrush @berserker66666 What you guys don't seem to understand is that it doesn't matter how many DLCs come out the outcome will be the same, i would be the first happy to see more mass effect but it just doesn't matter because playing it will just lead to the same conclusion. If i just want narrative then i read a book, but from a videogame i expect to be part of the narrative and see how the story evolves with the way i play, knowing that everybody got the same ending is just frustrating. My point is that i enjoyed mass effect only to see that i was never affecting the game and that there were only 3 choices in the entire serie. So if you are happy with these easy endings, then you are lucky ones, you can keep playing mass effect, but for me i just don't see the point.
4 Like If the ending made sense - I would have bought all the DLC (like i did with ME2)... but whats the point of extra content when it all still ends up the same, with a space magic explosion that MAKES ZERO SENSE IN THE NARRATIVE OF THE ME UNIVERSE?
1 Like It does make sense in the ME universe...you see, the Crucible is a powe source and the Citadel not only coordinates the relay network but amplifies dark energy emissions. Its all in the narrative.
@texasgoldrush @puppy_maclove if the citadel was reaper controlled all along, and had inside a factory to prossess organics, why not place several indoctrination devices inside the unaccessible areas of the station instead, and indoctrinate everyone (including the council) long before they were even aware it was possible? There would be no wars ever, they would ALWAYS win. Poor ending.
I'm happy you liked it & it made sense to you .. I did not like and it did not make a micro gram of sense to me. Nothing anybody says or no matter how you want to justify it, myself along with many other fans of the series, don't like it. I have many other issues with the game besides the ending. I dont mind that Shep died, that to was always obviously going to happen... its the manner in which it happens (space magic) Still, it was an ok game for me 6/10... but not great IMO.
BW made the EC to satisfy a minority? Sure.

I have been playing BW games & RPG's for a very long time. Please accept that people have and are entitled to their own opinions. Also, they have the right to express them.
I have stopped enjoying Bioware games, as I believe they have become soulless, rushed, mp orientated and poorly written, aimed at a more general audience.
Again, my opinion, I have the right not to buy any product from any manufacturer, if I feel its inferior. If you like what BW is offering.. lovely...
Personally I think the writing is on the wall for BioWare, I give them another 4 years before they get the final EA kiss of death.

ME3 was no more rushed than ME1 on 360, where the game was a clunker. Stop being hypocritical. ME1 was Bioware's least polished game after DA2.
Nevermind the ending was changed due to the entire script of ME3 being leaked months before release, or did you forget that one.?
And truthfully ME3 beats ME1 in storytelling. Why? Because outside Wrex, ME1 had very little to no character development, while ME3 had both character development and a strong more cohesive plot than ME1. Take the nostalgia glasses off, the dialogue in ME1 was the worst in the series as well. Seriosuly Renegade Shep was so poorly written in ME1 its laughable.
@texasgoldrush @puppy_maclove well, if you are ok with space magic in a suposedly cultural mark of a game (compared to star wars even), that's up to you. Like you said yourself, it started going downhill still in ME2, with the Laszaruys Project(nothing more than a poorly disguised way of justifying giving the players the possibility of changing classes while keeping the story decisions), with the disapearance of the exploration missions, and with the story being presented by pieces with each mission being its own thing. And ended with ME3, a rushed game, where the story itself lost cohesion, mini-games and exploration disapeared, stores and inventories vanished, the war assets are nothing but a cheap excuse to not actually offer an ending to several secondary story lines, and where the ending was seriously rushed in order to make the deadline, after spreading themselves too thin with ME3 and SWTOR development. Makes sense?

2 Like Here is the thing....it doesn't make sense to you because you simply don't get it. Its your problem, not the game's.
The gane explains to you how it happens, but you did not pay attention. Vendetta states to you why the Crucible and the Citadel are important, and the Catalyst tells you how it works as well.
If you want space magic, try ME2's Lazarus Project. Its far worse than ME3's ending.
3 Like I remember when "Expansion Packs" meant you got a beefy amount of content, half the price of the original copy, that came on a disk, that developers had to put actual effort into making. Kind of sad than one-two hours of content or a weapon pack is considered an 'expansion'.
@IgotEpixx They should learn from Bethesda. Their dlc/expansion is hella good and worth it.
I have a question.
I basically couldn't afford ME3 when it came out, then kept hearing negative things (mainly just that the ending was bad) and ended up just not bothering to play. What I'd like to know is, is it worth me playing now?
I've heard more praise for The Witcher 2, so if I'm not getting ME3, I'll still have something else to play next week.

Its overrated, while it is good, the story isn;t as good as the first game and the combat is still not very good. The game still has that backwards difficulty curve.

ME3 was ok but the ending... wow... it just kills the series. As an analogy, in terms of the disappointment I experienced... Imagine watching the Lord of the rings trilogy and loving it (as most do) but then at the end Frodo wakes up (modern day setting - our world) and realizes it was all a dream, he gets up & gets ready for his first day of high school or some crap like that. Like I said not an analogy for what happened in the game, but for how I felt... the ending just ruined the whole series for.
No,, ME3 is better...the characters are better and so is the atmoshpere...save import also matters.
Its funny...all the talk about ME3 ending being nad and had to be fixed...The Witcher 2 had the EXACT same issue...ITS ending had to be fixed and expanded upon as well.
