Marvel Super Hero Squad mobilizes for uDraw, 3DS
Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii drawing peripheral gets Comic Combat Nov. 15 while Nintendo handheld receives Infinity Gauntlet with new playable heroes Oct. 11.
Today's theatrical release of Captain America: The First Avenger signals the end of the year's superhero gauntlet as far as films go, but there are still a small handful of spandex-spangled offerings in store for gamers. Two such titles were dated today, as THQ confirmed that Marvel Super Hero Squad: Comic Combat for the uDraw tablet will hit the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii on November 15, while Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet receives a 3DS port on October 11.
All three versions of Marvel Super Hero Squad: Comic Combat will require THQ's uDraw tablet peripheral, which hit the Wii last November and is set to arrive on the Xbox 360 and PS3 later this year. The stylus-driven game will let players take control of Thor, Iron Man, and other heroes as they try to thwart Dr. Doom's latest schemes. Players will be able to use the stylus to guide their heroes' attacks and create cover, while shaking the tablet itself will be able to spur an in-game earthquake.
Originally released for multiple platforms last November, The Infinity Gauntlet is a family-friendly adaptation of the 1991 Marvel comics crossover in which the mad god Thanos of Titan uses a collection of omnipotence-granting gems to kill half the population of the universe. Besides the expected enhancement of optional 3D visuals, the 3DS version of the game will include four new playable heroes (Captain America, Nova, Black Widow, and She-Hulk) and a pair of new levels where players can step into the villainous boots of Dr. Doom, Magneto, Loki, and the Abomination.
