Man dies after 50-hour gaming marathon

Heart failure stemming from exhaustion claims life of South Korean gamer

A 28-year-old South Korean man who began a marathon online gaming session August 3 died just after 50 hours of nearly nonstop gaming, according to a Reuters report. Identified by authorities only by his surname of Lee, the man only left his online battle simulation games to go to the bathroom and to take short naps on a makeshift bed. Lee had apparently quit his job recently to play more games. The cause of death was presumed to be heart failure stemming from exhaustion. The event is sadly reminiscent of previous gaming marathon deaths in South Korea and Taiwan.

    He must have been completely mentally and emotionally healthy, and thus the only problem here must have been the video games.

    man this is funny XD I can understand people that can play 14 hours striaght because me and my friends do it like twice a year when we get a game we have been waiting for like 3 years. But someone playing a game to death is frickin funny XD

    i agree they take their games to serioulsy i mean a vast amount of ppl play lots of hours but when u past the point of u play the game but the game plays u and ya RL its ridiculous

    I guess if there was any sort of olympics for this South Coreia woul take 1º and 2º place with Taiwan in 3º.
