Madden needs more innovation - EA Sports exec

Hire me. No franchise mode was a HUGE mistake, and connected careers, is unfinished, no to mention bug ridden.They should have just beefed up franchise mode, instead of wasting time and money. The things that are cool about connected careers, could easily have been implemented into franchise mode. The new physics engine, is pretty much, just the last of the last generation, but with the new graphics, FINALLY. I play to get my fix, but this game makes me bitter, after 20+ years of football gaming, to have this unfinished game presented as a finished game, is unfortunate.

Madden has left out some absolutely key features that every game prior has had. Upon the release of Fifa 13 i'll be trading madden in for it.

Regarding people having difficulty finding offline season mode... you can call these people dumb if you want, but if a mode isn't OBVIOUS to find (and let's face it, it's the most sought after mode) then that is a flaw in game design.

No fantasy mode is a disappointment too.

What floored me was the lack of create a team, pretty much a staple since Madden left the PS1/Saturn generation. There's a lot of good in this game, I love the move to HD (finally!), the passing system, the new tackling system (wonkiness and all), the new commentary team (sans creepy CG intro), and lack of miscellaneous pop songs.  But Madden still is missing too much to warrant a full purchase, it's fun but not great or even close to classic.

Bring back NFL2K, that was a game. At least Madden was forced to innovate back then. Now, no competition is an easy paycheck for all the hail mary gamers... I don't believe in Madden anymore.

Its American Football, so it better than FIFA. FIFA is a great game, but not a soccer fan, GO PACK GO!!!

Honestly the brain dead console gamers that buy Madden every year without caring if there are new changes or not are as much to blame as EA for the lack of innovation in this series. Why change it at all if the game sells so much regardless if there is innovation or not?

Yea it should be more innovative, they should turn it into a shooter.

Maybe if Madden got some competition, then it might see some innovation.

Madden hasnt chanced since the PS2... Do people still believe these clowns? Once they bought the NFL License any chance of a good football game went out the window.

Thought this has been the usual joke about Madden for several years now. They talk 'innovation' but when was the last time they delivered?

Stop talking EA and start doing.

We've only been saying that for...I don't know...10 YEARS!!!

Innovating a massive franchise has it's share of problems from Final Fantasy to Killzone to Uncharted to Halo to Mario to Madden to Half-Life. One side of the coin is delivering what the fans expect and have proven to like. The other side of it is not stagnating or alienating that core fanbase from buying the next game in the series. Quite the juggling act.

This is news to these guys? Where the hell have they been?
