Suda-51's third-person zombie action game gets dated; European launch set for June 15.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will take the wrapper off Grasshopper Manufacture's Lollipop Chainsaw this summer. The publisher has revealed a June 12 North American release date for the game, with a June 15 debut in Europe.
Lollipop Chainsaw lets players assume the role of the chainsaw-wielding cheerleader Juliet Starling. When her high school is overrun with zombies, Juliet's family history of zombie hunting comes in handy. Combining her cheerleading acrobatics and a deft hand with the chainsaw, Juliet takes the fight to the zombie hordes, attempting to discover the root of the outbreak, but she soon finds her task complicated by "zombie rock lords" intent on taking her down.
The game marks another collaboration for Grasshopper CEO Suda-51, who previously worked with Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka on Shadows of the Damned. Lollipop Chainsaw will see Suda-51 and Yamaoka re-team, with contributions from American film director James Gunn. The director and writer of distinctively unusual films like Slither and Super, Gunn was involved in creating the story, characters, and dialogue for Lollipop Chainsaw. He also worked with American actors on the English voice-over of the game.

[CORRECTION]: One mention of Lollipop Chainsaw's North American release date in this story incorrectly gave the game's launch date as June 13. We regret the error.
so what is the correct date? June 12, June 13th, or June 19th like it says in the game bio on the left?
@AvnKnight too bad you missed out on a good game. but i think this game will sell for the same reasons as tomb raider ^^
Shadow of the Damned was good because it was gritty humor is ok but when you start making fun of your own game people don't know what to think of it. It's kinda like HAHAHA not very funny.
seems ok, zombies, I love (killing) them, might be worth a look, hope to see some more coverage on this game before it comes out...
Looking forward to getting the game guess can't say there aren't any good games coming out this summer now.
Cheerleaders? Chainsaws? Zombies? Suda? What could go wrong! And for the ladies out there, Mindless Self Indulgence's Jimmy Urine provided the music too.
Dead Rising, No stamina, restricted to a certain area, but it's fun for casual gaming and just messing around :P Just started Dead Island and well, they're both decent.
$39.99? The story is a rip off of buffy the vampire hunter with zombies. Onechambara? Nothing new...
suda 51 thats all you need to say to warrant a purchase. A smoking blonde in a skimpy outfit, well that just icing on the cake.
Coming out on my birthday? I know what to get for myself this year. I would need to buy a Xbox 360 or PS3 though...two Suda-51 games should be worth it though.
I'm so getting this on day one =) Hot chick + zombies + Chainsaw + Using her boyfriend head as a weapon ... What else can you ask for!?
finally I'll get it in day one, the team that worked in it has a good background plus insane zombie kills and a crazy psycho main character
reminds me of Onechanbara bikini zombie slayers, ill get it unless they want 60$ then ill just want for the price drop
