Little Big Planet kart racing coming to PS3 - Report
New racing game based on platform franchise for PlayStation 3 with 3D support reportedly announced at Sony event; Move racing wheel also inbound.
Sony's imaginative Little Big Planet platforming franchise is opening a new chapter, according to a Canadian vendor tweeting from an official Sony event. According to tweets from retail outlet Future Shop, Sony is developing a Little Big Planet kart racing game for the PlayStation 3.
The news stems from Future Shop's official Twitter account, which reports Sony announced a Little Big Planet kart racing game during its Destination PlayStation retailer event this week in Arizona. The game will reportedly release for the PS3 with 3D support.
Additionally, a second tweet from the retailer says Sony also is planning to release an official PlayStation Move racing wheel, which will be compatible with the new Little Big Planet kart racing game.
The Future Shop Twitter account also revealed details about Square Enix's new open-world action game Sleeping Dogs before the publisher officially announced it later in the day.
As of press time, Sony had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment.
If the Little Big Planet kart racing game is real, it will be the second first-party kart racing game franchise from Sony. The company is also behind Modnation Racers, which was released in 2010 for the PS3 and PSP. A PlayStation Vita version of Modnation Racers is set to release for February 15.
