inXile entertainment grabs rights to make Wii, DS games based on Web-based diversion; new game due in spring 2007.
Bored members of the cubicle-bound workforce have found a bit of relief with Linerider, a Web-based application incorporating fun with physics. Developed by a Slovenian student, the game has users draw lines on which an animated sled rider cruises down. The "toy" has inspired some amateur designers to create some impressive backgrounds, many of which have ended up on YouTube. As it is based on drawing, inXile entertainment figured it would be a perfect fit for the Nintendo DS and Wii, and today acquired the rights to develop Linerider games for the consoles. The games, which will include "new added features," is expected to be released in spring 2007. No other details were mentioned.
It would be awesome...if they ever make it. : (
Um it's 2008 still no LineRider
It comz out Spring 2008! i cant wait til it comz out, i bet it will hav a stunt mode that lets u do midair stunts an wheeliez, and it might hav music to put on it through Wifi or somthin. CANT WAIT :D
I dont think its ever goin to be realeased :( i would buy it... IF IT WAS EVER OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???!?!??!!?!
It's fall of '07 right now.....
If you want to see how this will play on DS and have a pocket pc then download the demo of line rider mobile. It has puzzles and breakable surfaces. The demo is time limited but enough to give you a taste, so you may want to buy it.
I agree with camh91. It is fun for a while, but I don't think it would be worth buying on a console.
I'm getting this. ^_^ I have some vids on YouTube, as well, but they aren't that good.
This IS gonna be cool altho I might buy it on the DS not on the wii, tracing line with the ds is way easier....
i thnk i might have to buy a ds or wii just for this game alone!
i think i might buy this cause i love the web thing!!
I'm gonna buy it no matter WHAT the price. This is what I have been saving my allowance for! ( I bet it's gonna have wifi track sharing and a puzzle mode, and hopefully, MUSIC.)
Good if its not too expensive
This was a great game to waste time on. It should not be more than a $10-$25 price range for it.
lilne rider was the best thing to happen to the web! now on the DS you can take it with you whate ever you go!! all right!!!
i LOVE LINERIDER! This will be wicked.
Shame i dont have a DS or a Wii :(
I dont know how you are to make a whole game on something like that. I mean come on it is fun for a couple of minutes but a whole game.
This is sweet! I love this game!
"The should release it on the VC...it'll make money that way" said by LprojektST" Nintendo said that they intended to let "independant, small developers" use the virtual console system as a way to release Wii games without the companies having to spend as much on development costs, so it could happen.
Wow imagine making maps and sending them to friends and working on huge ones whenever you feel like it in little chunks, with the precision of a touch screen!!!! XD XD XD XD
linerider rocks
YEA!!!!!!!!!!! i will get both version for sure.
lol line rider is cool but this game better be cheap for it to be worth buying
this better be a $2 game
Sounds far too limited to hold much appeal. I'm going to stick wiyh playing it online.
I'd buy it if it was under $10
I love Line Rider! Everyone at school plays it when we go into our computer lab.
The should release it on the VC...it'll make money that way
This'll be awesome... Hey, maybe they'll do something cool like let nintendo characters cruise your lines, ie mario, link or sonic xD (I know sonic isn't a nintendo character btw)
line rider is like the hardest game ever i cant even make 1 jump or a loop...
Line Rider is great
I'm getting it for DS. Definitely.
Wow it must've taken a long time for whoever to draw all those mountains etc... I see kids playing this all the time in class and all they do is draw lines for the guy to go on. They should put this on the ds, I might actually buy it then.
why would you buy that game when you can play it for free on the web?
Add they have to do is make it like Kirby Canvas Curse and they're good to go.
This is truly addicting! i LOVE it! It's gonna be GREAT on DS... dunno about Wii though...
I want a mission mode, get from A to B while avoiding obstacles and completing other goals (like using at least 3 loopings or make at least 2 summersaults) This could be lots of fun! O and I want background graphics and OFCOURSE... I want my Mii riding the sleigh!!!!
lol, I wonder what kind of stuff they're going to add to it...I mean, you could play it from the website with the Internet Channel couldn't you?
Hopefully it has a story mode.
nice i cant wait . hope they have the sled, snow bored ,dirt bike , jeep and chair. i realy cant wait this is going to be cool. but i wount pay 50 dollers for it maybe 20
haha gna google the game now.. sounds interesting
we'll see how it ends up lookin as.
This could be sleeper hit of the year.
It has to be $20.. Other than being a fun pick-up-and-play game, I wouldn't pay much more for it. I totally wasted 25 minutes of my time playing the online version, and I'd pay $20 to be able to do that no matter where I was with my DS! Ha! Can't wait for this release!
this will be cool
i knew this game would be perfect for the DS and Wii
I like line rider , it's so funny making the guy crash and tumble down things
Actually, theres a new updated version of Line Rider on the web with a erase tool, just look it up on google. and btw the news OWNS!!!
finnaly, another pick up and play game, I love Line Rider!
