This year's Develop Conference & Expo will be taking place July 30-31, and the organisers seem determined to cram as much into the Hilton Brighton Metropole as they can.
The keynote address will be delivered by Ken Levine, where he and members of the creative team at 2K Boston will examine the secrets of the success of sci-fi first-person shooter BioShock. Along with Levine, colleagues Christopher Kline, Nate Wells, and Bill Gardner will also be speaking.
Other speakers include David Braben, the cocreator of Elite and founder of Frontier, who will address 'Why the Future is Brighter Than Ever.' Naughty Dog's Richard Lemarchand will discuss the PlayStation 3 exclusive action adventure Uncharted: Drake's Fortune in 'Working Hard and Having Fun.'
The business keynote will come from Phil Spencer, recently promoted general manager at Microsoft Game Studios, and be titled 'The Broadening Imperative.' The talk will address the importance of seeking a wider audience to continue to grow the industry.
Alex Evans and Mark Healey, cofounders of Media Molecule, will be chatting about LittleBigPlanet in 'The Experiment Further Along,' whereas Jonathan Smith from Traveller's Tales--famous for the Lego Star Wars games--wants to tell the world 'How to Make Children Cry.' Peter Molyneux will also be getting a few words in, chatting about Fable 2 in 'New Gameplay Dimensions in Role-Playing Games.'

I'm reading this fanboy stuff in here and why are there arguments about RPGs when every console has its own top of the line RPG for its gamers, its okay if one likes it and another one wouldn't have a good time with it, just stick with what you like and don't bother anybody and nobody will bother you. There is not point and purpose to tell somebody he has bad tastes because that would be like acting as a dictator.
This is to that Digital guy down there: Your really dumb. You said "what would Xbox fanboys know about good RPG's with the exception of Mass Effect and Knights of the Old Republic and Oblivion". Well, Oblivion is arguably the best RPG of all time, KOTOR is awesome and so is mass effect. So tell me, how is it that us Xbox players don't know a good RPG when we see one when we have better RPG's then lets say sony? The only thing better than it is PC, but you just can't compete with that. Maybe you should stop being a moron and open your eyes to see that FABLE 2 has things no other game does, and at least give it some credit for that. FABLE 2 is gonna PWN!
Digital i just got to say this is the 2nd fable...and how many Zelda"s are there.....um a lot also fable is a completely different type of RPG. Fable is going to be crazy good there's so many new things in it that haven't been done before. I admit fable 1 was good but not the greatest game out but I personally think that fable 2 is just going to kill.

In my opinion there is no other game that demonstrates the same inginuity & sheer originality of Fable, yes i love Oblivion am a big RPG fan however Fable is a tottaly different experience. What other game world changes in REAL TIME (Weather, Envioroment, NPC attitudes, etc) dependant on your characters attitude, as well as being able to have children, an intelligent animal, cross play 'Plug-In' games (via XBL) to make in game money, not to mention buying / selling homes, businesess etc, let me think............. there arnt any! Regarding Zelda, again, thats just another rpg that isnt what i would call ingenious, other than the fact that its a Nintendo game, lets face it when the only competition it has is FF thats not a real feat in my eyes. This is my personal opinion of course and dont mean to cause any offence. (feel the thumbs down in the post : ) Not that i give a ****.
i fired up fable for old times sake, and i'm still learning new things about it! for example, if you're evil enough, you turn green. i had no idea that could happen.
I'm loving how everyone here is singing Fable 2s praises when in actaulity, Fable was mediocre compared to other RPG's... Ofcourse, what would Xbox fanboys know about good RPG's with the exception of Mass Effect and Knights of the Old Republic and Oblivion... In one of the OXM issues there was an article about Fable 2 and the headline stated "Zelda Killer". I bet you guys would like to think so but there isn't a chance in HELL that Fable 2 will EVER amount to the greatness of the Zelda series... And if you guys think I'm lying then I'll gladly tell you which OXM issue I'm talking about.

UT3, Fable 2 and Halo Wars are currently my most looked forward to games coming out for 360, in release date order.

GTA III, Vice City (Double Pack) & San Andreas 2. Ninja Gaiden & Black 3. Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow & Chaos Theory 4. Project Gotham & 2 5. Forza 6. Panzer Dragoon Orta 7. TES III Morrowind 8. Burnout Takedown, Revenge 9. Jade Empire 10. Beyond Good & Evil And loads more...!

Fable was definitely one of the top 3-4 games on Xbox... right there with Crimson Skies, KOTOR and Halo CE.
With the exception of the 'Orange Box', no other game has ever immersed me like Fable, i simply NEED Fable 2 : )
fable was good played it through 3 times but jus didnt seem long enough to go into the epic of final fantasy 7 and legend of zelda n64 had so nice wow factors but just not a long enough story if they sort that for number 2 it'd be awesome

I cant wait for Fable 2 either, loved the first one (completed it around 6/7 times) just to see alternatives good / bad etc. Apparently the entire WORLD changes (including the wheather) dependant on your choosen path (good or evil). Very original and innovative and theres nothing else like it!

Hopefully Levine will address the fact that he left out a lot of the things he promised and didn't deliver other things that weren't up to the standards of what he said they would be.
