Lego Batman series sales hit 14.4 million

Sequel DC Super Heroes sells 3.4 million, pushing franchise to new sales milestone.

The Lego Batman series has now sold 14.4 million copies since it launched in 2008.

Warner Bros. announced today that sequel Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes has sold 3.4 million copies since launch in June, adding to the 11 million units the 2008 original Lego Batman has sold as of January 2012.

A Wii U version of Lego Batman 2: Super Heroes is currently in development and is due later this spring.

Though a third entry in the series has not been announced, Lego games fans are not without new projects to look forward to.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes from TT Games and a Lego massively multiplayer online game from Age of Conan and The Secret World developer Funcom are currently in development.

Well since the lego DC games did so well i pray the same thing happens with the lego marvel game

I can't resist these LEGO games, especially playing co-op, and my kids loved them.  They're just good clean fun.

after swearing i would never buy a lego game, i did. i just beat this on my vita and it is hilarious. i love the humor in it, and lego batman 2 actually has tons of references to arkham asylum! not to mention the justice league in it is a bonus. definitely pick it up folks. it is well worth the price of admission.

Wicked game that can easily be recommended to any DC fan.  Especially after you unlock the Justice League for open-world play.

Congrats to the devs. On another note, I love my Wii U but seriously.... I would rather them not release the game as I played it on my Xbox 360. I would much rather them focus their time on a new game to be enjoyed for the Wii U.
