LEGO Batman 2 spends fourth week at top of UK Chart
No movement in the top three last week as Lego Batman 2 sees its fourth week in first; new release Inversion misses out on a chart position.
The top three places in the UK sales chart remain unchanged after poor sales across the board last week. LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes was left top of the chart for the fourth consecutive week, placing it joint with FIFA Soccer 12 for most consecutive weeks at the top of the chart this year. London 2012 - The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games holds its position at two with The Amazing Spider-Man hanging in at three -- despite all top three titles seeing a decrease in sales.
Dead Island Game of the Year Edition climbed a spot to fourth regardless of its sales drop; Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was one of only three titles in the top ten to increase its sales last week, thanks to retailer promotions, lifting it four places to five.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 climbed to six while The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim drops one spot to seven. The ever-present FIFA 12 falls one place to eight as Euro-fever wanes with Spec Ops: The Line occupying ninth position. Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games climbed one spot as a result of a good week of sales, scraping into the top ten as the opening ceremony gets nearer.
The announcement of new Codemasters game F1 Race Stars coincides with a re-entry for F1 2011 at 25. Last week's new releases Inversion and The Sims 3: Diesel Stuff Pack both failed to reach top 40 last week, though The Sims 3 makes a return to the top 40 at 37.
New releases are thin on the ground this week, with Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance the only significant impending launch.
The UK All-Formats chart for the week ending 14th July:
1. Lego Batman 2: DC Superheroes
2. London 2012
3. The Amazing Spider-Man
4. Dead Island GOTY Edition
5. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
6. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
7. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
8. FIFA 12
9. Spec Ops: The Line
10.Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympic games
