Left 4 Dead 2 DLC weathering The Passing

Free on PC, I want this now

Yasso, what you do is keep it on your hard drive. Left 4 Dead still has some aspects of it that just feel a bit more polished than Left 4 Dead 2, I still play both games on a consistent basis. People really need to stop whining, the little Boycott bandwagon is done and over with. I would rather deal with the Xbox gamers whining about how PC gets free DLC than deal with "We can't even imagine not playing Left 4 Dead 1 ever again after we buy the sequel" Listen, I still play Left 4 Dead 1 a bit, and it is NOT hard at all to get a game going, Lobbies take a bit longer to fill up, but it doesn't really ruin the game for anyone except twitchy Counter Strike players that can't go five seconds without any gameplay.

I don't see why so many people complain about paying for new games & additional content when Valve do such a great job of supporting their customers. I wonder if these same people who whine so loudly & consistently would work for free to provide products & services to me for no cost whatsoever. If so I could use a cleaner to come around about twice a week for no pay, a chauffeur to drive me to & from clubs & pubs so I don't have to pay for taxis (they have to pay for the car & petrol, naturally), a live-in chef who not only cooks for free but goes out & buys the ingredients himself & then pays the bills for me. If these people aren't prepared to work for free for others then stop being such hypocrites & don't expect Valve to do what you're not willing to. Funnily enough it appears that !

Screw Valve for dividing this community that used to LOVE the L4D brand name as a whole. What are L4D1 owners supposed to do now? Buy L4D2? And then what happens to L4D1?! We just throw it in the bin? We all know L4D2 was developed on the same exact engine, technology, design, and ideas of L4D1, and it should've been an expansion. Shame on you, Valve. Shame!

probably the new infected is another uncommon infected, not a special infected. of course, i'd be extremely happy if i was wrong.

@LeJR I know excatly what you mean. When DA origins came out they had 2 dlcs avalible on launch. Whats the point? Honestly, I thought dlc was about listening to the fans after release and inprove on the game. Or if the developers had to make a deadline but couldn't fit that content for that time so they add it on after like the gears of war 2 expansion. It doesnt make sence if your charging 70$ for a game and not enclude that content that you can also buy on the same day or in the first 2 weeks. I have no problem if its announced earlier, as long as its not planned in the first 2 weeks cause then they should of just added that content to the game in the first place.

DLC is headed in a very very dark direction I think, developers probably know exactly what the DLC will consist of before the game is even released, charging excessive amounts of money for the content (relative to what the base game provides). If I remember correctly, wasn't DLC *announced* for MW2 before it was even released? To be fair, it's a brilliant business tactic, but people are going to grow weary of it in time. I dunno, maybe I only speak for myself on this one, but whatever.

i hope we dont get charged for thi dlc on the xbox again, thats stupid since we pay the same amount and sometimes more for the console version

i think if dlc was free tho they would sell more games. ppl would would buy games way after their initial release because they would feel like they are getting more for their money

This is really teasing me because I have an Xbox, but I don't have xbox live. And The Xbox Marketplace doesn't allow you to transfer free DLC(if it is) onto an Xbox 360 via Disc :( sad face

Why do people always seem to think that they are entitled to downloadable content. You are entitled to nothing. Valve doesn't HAVE to put out new content and you don't HAVE to buy it. If you don't like paying for it then don't play it. There is nothing wrong with Valve wanting a few dollars for something they continued to work on AFTER the game has already come out. It'd be nice if everyone would quit being whiny little children.

I hope they add in a lot of dialogue for the old members. Bring them to life a bit more like the new ones.

btw when i said all xboxs do, i meant all xbox 360 models, not that everyone who owns an xbox will have the problem, because i know one lucky bastard that has owned one since 2006 and it still runs fine, whereas ive been through 4,

@payne6705 my xbox elite got the red ring of death, all xboxs do. When i opened my xbox to fix it i saw what microsoft's "fix" was from the original white xbox to the elite. haha, it's just another elevated heat sink but they could add 1000 heat sinks and they still wouldnt be taking care of the real problem

@1BigJuice from what I am hearing I'm not sure what it is my gut is telling me though its a xbox issue the E74 error is also a xbox issue for the 360 elite the elite claimed to never get the RROD and mine never did instead they are plauged with E74 which is basically the same thing you can't play your 360 thankfully your harddrive is never affected by it and its covered under warranty even if its expired I do remember the days leading up to it from random games stalling or freezing I thought it was a connection issue since it happened online a lot but instead I got the E74 good luck to you I would deff try out another 360 be4 any1 jumps to any conclusions it could just be the disc itself

also i hope that this is a long campaign,i mean crash course was good but too short too be worth 560 ms pts (yes i did buy it anyway)

@payne6705 Thanks for your comment My xbox had RROD once like 1.5 years ago and that came right away without any warnings or signs Maybe 2nd one is on the way, its kinda weird, if i am in the safe room or stage 1 or 2 i could be there 7 hours no Freezes , However once i run level 5 finale or throw multiple pipe bombs there is a big chance that my 360 freezes. ( yesterday no freezes at all but i took out my hard drive and played of memory unit. As i said this all started when i d/l CC . Is E 74 hard drive or xbox issue? I been playing last 2 days of memory unit around 560mb to see if this is hard drive issue. 1 freeze so far in 4 hours of playtime , however memory unit is much slower than hard drive in processing data so i still do not know was that one freeze due to xbox or memory unit not being able to keep up with heavy loads in L4D.This time freeze was during loading level 3 before none of freezes happen while loading level..I still can not delete my L4D game save which i think is the issue here (since i have 42000 zombie kills i will do that once i reach 53K+ for achievement) Aslo i will get 2nd 360 in 2 days ( from my friend ) for few days so i can do more tests to see weather its hard drive or 360

I'm pretty sure I paid enough when I bought the game initially, I shouldn't have to pay for all this add-on stuff. It should be free.

@ Waza19: Both L4D and L4D2 are actually LOT'S of fun on the console. And you can't exactly have the come back of; "well you've never tried it on the PC." Because I have L4D on PC AND Xbox 360 and I like both version's equally. In fact L4D was the game that made me try Xbox Live, and I haven't looked back and wondered what could of been since.

So, if the PC version does happen to be free then an Xbox owner has paid an additional $17 for the game and DLC vs a PC gamer? I didn't realize console gamers paid so much for games. I thought consoles were supposed to be so much cheaper than a PC but over the course of 3-4 years it would not seem to be the case.

Can't wait until this releases. I hope the PC DLC is free, but even if it isn't, the most it'll be is $10, which covers the extra price I would have paid just to get the game on 360 anyway. Why anybody who has a gaming worthy PC would choose the 360 version over PC is beyond my comprehension (I say that, but I actually understand the concept of comfort of couch, friends playing on 360, etc...I just like being dumb). Keep delivering Valve!

I don't know if it will happen, but can you imagine the insanity (and fun) of 8 on 8 versus?

It'll probably be around $10 since it has more content than Crash Course did. Of, PC will most likely be free.

If an extra $7 is going to break your budget to play great content, then you may want to get a new hobby like kite flying. I agree that it is a bummer the PC gets it for free, but they deserve it for percervering this long with so few A games compared to what the consoles get. It is capitalism at it's best; if you don't like it, then don't buy it.

I'm sure the PC DLC will be cheaper.
