Wish they could release more cases , but they are priced good in my opinion.usually game add-ons are 600MS+ but this has 380MS(i think) for each case. @holtrocks i agree too.
Rockstar offering two new cases, free and premium in-game items starting today; two final crimes planned for June, July.
Gamers ready to close the file on L.A. Noire may want to think again. Today, Rockstar Games announced a host of add-on content for the post-World War II crime drama, with the first set of bonus cases arriving for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 today.
The opening salvo of DLC includes two new cases, four in-game items, and a challenge. The two new cases are titled "The Naked City" and "A Slip of the Tongue," and fall within the vice desk and traffic desk, respectively. These cases can be bought individually for $4 (320 Microsoft points).
As for in-game items, gamers can pick up the Broderick detective suit and gun as well as the sharpshooter detective suit and gun today for $1 (80 MSP) each. Rockstar is also giving away the Chicago piano machine gun to all, while the Chicago Lightning detective suit is free to those who belong to the Rockstar Social Club (a free registration through Rockstar's website). Lastly, The Badge Pursuit Challenge can be had for $2 (160 MSP).
Beyond the DLC arriving today, Rockstar is prepping two more bonus cases for L.A. Noire. The "Nicholson Electroplating" arson case will arrive on June 21, while the "Reefer Madness" vice case is scheduled for July 12. These bonus cases will also cost $4 (320 MSP) each. Rockstar noted that it does not plan to release additional DLC beyond "Reefer Madness."
Though all items can be bought individually, those interested in the lot can purchase the Rockstar Pass, which grants access to all seven pieces of premium content for $10--a 50 percent savings. The $10 price tag will only hold for a limited time, Rockstar noted, before raising to $12 at an unspecified date.

Hope they keep making more cases to buy i played 11 yesterday ( just got it ) so hopefully at least 2 a month.
@ssdd_again DANG I admit I didn't even see that! I'll have to get on that. Agree that it's brilliant game
I don't buy that this will be the only DLC they release. This is from an article by Ewa Grygier from an Australian Game Site "Sam Houser, Rockstar founder, would also like to remind us that 'L.A. Noire contains boundless potential for new stories and new cases, so it's very possible that this is only the first wave of DLC for the detective thriller. We'll be sure to keep an eye out." I bet the next wave will be around the 6 month mark and will be an expansion park with the missing desks, or it will have its own pass like this wave of DLC and add 4 more cases and extras.
The funny thing is that I'd actually buy this extra stuff if it were included on the disc to begin with. $70 for a full game that I can completely give to my friend if I feel like it is more attractive than a $60 game with the option to buy extra bits that will be forever tied to my gamertag, completely nontransferable.
@Rasputin2011 'Rockstar is also GIVING AWAY the Chicago piano machine gun to ALL, while the Chicago Lightning detective suit is FREE to those who belong to the Rockstar Social Club (a FREE registration through Rockstar's website).' Clearly you did not read the whole article. That said, I am a bit deflated. The City is so vast in the game and I cant help thinking Rockstar could of done a lot more with this game overall. Still a brilliant game though.
this games worse enemy is lack of multiplayer this game would have been much better if they incorperated a multiplayer element as much as it ripped of GTA at every turn they missed the most promising aspect, running aoround as a gang of mobsters or cops in classic cars robbing banks or performinhg hist's would have been epic it's a shame they didnt take it to the limit. Check out my review of LA Noir for a detailed description of the game and it's systems.
I completely agree with Alper1010. I was really expecting a lot more from R* in the form of additional DLC. I was sure they would end up offering the 2 desks left out of the game, Burglary and Bunko, plus more than just 2 additional cases. An add on pack of street crimes for free roam, and even an L.A. Noire type Undead Nightmare pack would have been amazing! I bought L.A. Noire fully expecting a host of new DLC to be available for sometime, and feel a bit let down that they have already announced that this is it.
@Malscyllis-once you beat the game you cant even pull your gun out on free roam. Stick to red dead and gta rockstar. -- Uh, maybe because you're a cop in this game and you're an outlaw in the other ones? Aren't you smart. P.S. About the whole "wait for complete edition" thing, I bought GTAIV this past Black Friday for $13. I waited patiently and bang, the DLC went on sale on PSN for $15. Complete Edition =$40. Game + DLC = $28. I'm awesome.
Please add this to the article; "Jeff Rubenstein on June 1st, 2011 at 2:51 pm said: R* just pinged me, and asked me to share this info: "We want to let all our PlayStation 3 fans know that as soon as PSN is back up and running, all PSN users will get a 2-week grace period to get the L.A. Noire Rockstar Pass at the original discount price to ensure that they don't miss out on the savings." Great news!" @Rasputin2011 If you preorderd you got: Naked City + Badge Challenge free. If you sign up for the social site you get a free suit. There is also a free gun to download. @Frame_Dragger I think the DLC for this game is priced decently. In case you did not get the pre-order you get a bunch of suits, a gun, and 2 cases and if you bought the pass before May 31 you also get discounts on the other 2 cases when they come out. $2-3 for hour plus of content is fine by me. Going to the movies is 5x that and I can't repeat the experience as often as I want. Phelps looks fly in the Sharpshooter.
It's nice that a couple of these are free, and the rest of the stuff isn't absurdly expensive, either.A dollar or two here and there is what all DLC should cost, unless it's a full blown expansion.
Wait....no more DLC after the two new cases in the summer? Well, I'm less inclined to buy the remaining cases for $10 then. Would much rather save $10 and watch the cases on youtube tbh :/ As much as I love Rockstar, I was excepting them to put (at least) most of the cut content into the game as DLC. Disappointed.
"Rockstar offering two new cases, free and premium in-game items starting today; two final crimes planned for June, July." Read the article and didn't see anything about FREE DLC...
@Frame_Dragger - While I agree with you that Undead Nightmare was an amazing DLC, I disagree with your insinuation that those of us who bought the pass are impulsive and witless. The game was complete without the DLC, and those of us that really enjoyed it have no problem paying a bit more for more cases. Much like $8 Twizzlers, if you want to buy candy at the movies, you pay the cash. If not, you wait and buy the Twizzlers for $2-3 later. If it's too expensive, wait for the inevitable "GOTY" edition that will likely be released next year. I look at it this way - if I went to see a movie, it would be $9 in the theatre. That's roughly $4.50 an hour (depending on the film). So, I get 3 cases, that take me at least an hour a piece, for $10. Still works out cheaper. :)
I don't really think this game lends itself to DLC even a couple of weeks out. It's sort of like Heavy Rain, once you get to the end, it's THE END. Story is done. A few new cases or spiffy outfits isn't going to change that. Loved it, but I finished it. Maybe in a few months, I'll play it again.
At least everything is reasonably priced, its not like paying $15 for a few maps. I bought the pass and it was worth it. The people who will get the most out of this though are the people who just bought the game. It's just not the same selecting the case by itself.
@Frame_Dragger: Only DLC I've bought so far has been RDR coz it adds to overall experience [mostly MP content] and a whole new Single Player story [Undead Nightmare]. Fallout, yeah, woulda bought it if it weren't for bugs. DLC and story driven games don't gel well. There is one way they can make DLC work, but I don't wanna spoil LA Noire for you, but lets just say, it could be like an epilogue to LA Noire.
I got an e-mail about the Rockstar Pass, but honestly, I'm not sure I'll be getting any of this...I played the Naked City case already and it is cool, but since I've finished the game, I'm not sure how interested I am in playing it, or any other cases, again.
@Harrymanhunter1 Oh for gods sake it's like $10 in total for what appears to be about 2 hours per case with 7 in total, thats gotta be worth $10 surely or would you prefer Activisions way of having them all at $15 EACH?
er. but half this stuff came with the version I bought from the store anyway? So, what, 2 new cases in the future. rubbish.
Greay Deal of money lots hours of LA Noire content aslo wasnt the first time gd deal for rockstar games gta add on and Red Dead undead was only £6 for it and was a long content game. I say Rockstar games dont rip you off on content but Activevision or EA rip you off on content i say but psn store not up today or is it because it said content on today on ps3 and xbox360 ?
Sad that they won't be releasing any more dlc afterwords. Let's all just hope for a sequel to come soon.
I disagree with most of you complaining. I think $10 is a good deal for what ur getting... 4 new cases, which take at least 1.5 hours each. A bunch of suits and the badge challenge. I already had the naked city case and badge challenge because I preordered @ Gamestop, but even the 3 other cases is worth $10 to me
I enjoyed the game for what it was, with all the flaws, but I just don't see the appeal for DLC. For a game so driver by plot and story, won't make sense to go play some missions in middle of story. It is like reading a book, skipping about 10 pages in middle and then reading those pages AFTER finishing rest of the book.
(Rockstar noted that it does not plan to release additional DLC beyond "Reefer Madness.") Does this mean that no more DLC will ever be released for L.A. Noire or is that just for the mean time?
I wish my Xbox Live was actually working. :( I love L.A. Noire and would love to spend as much time as possible in that world.
bah, i already have codes for 3 things need to be DLed, now if the PS Store would hurry up and come back on
Kinda surprised that Rockstar is snuffing DLC for this game so quickly ... unless, of course, LA Noire 2 is to be announced at E3 next week.
Ok, catch a used copy at gamespot, trade back for Deus Ex, and if I like it, buy L.A.NOIRE: Complete Files
@zzamaro No point, this time it's not going to be as much content as Lost and Damned and Gay Tony or Undead Night mare, it's just some minor cases, and some suits.
@Owner34 - The content was spread across multiple retailers, so unless you preordered multiple copies, you couldn't get it all.
I thought about getting that pass but I want to get Hunted: The Demon's Forge, so I'm going to trade in L.A Noir for it and then trade that in for Duke Nukem: Forever.
This is another reason I wont buy any Rockstar game til 1-2 years after its release. They always unleash a ton of new DLC and that is annoying considering I love to 100% games and I dont wanna waste money buying DLC. Id rather wait to buy it all in one big bundle rather then spending more money on it seperately.
once you beat the game you cant even pull your gun out on free roam. Stick to red dead and gta rockstar.
The game is 2 weeks old and they're already releasing a bunch of DLC? Way to milk your title Rockstar.
