SNK Playmore has today announced that King of Fighters: Maximum Impact, which was released for the PlayStation 2 in October of last year, is heading for the Xbox. Currently scheduled for release at the end of May, the Xbox version of the 3D fighter will showcase all of the same features found in the PS2 original and will also add online play via Xbox Live.

King of Fighters: Maximum Impact will boast a roster of 19 characters, including both returning favorites and all-new fighters. Gameplay modes on offer will include a story mode, versus battles, survival, practice, and training. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
