I don't care how bad the game is going to be, that is not why I'll be buying it. The 360 and controller looks awesome and I can't wait to have my own R2 unit to play COD and Gears of War on!!!!
Kinect Star Wars delayed
LucasArts confirms motion-sensing version of sci-fi series and accompanying hardware bundle won't make it out this year; delay made "to ensure the full potential of this title is realized."
Star Wars may have been set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, but the sci-fi series' first Kinect-compatible game is further into the future than ever. LucasArts today confirmed for GameSpot that Kinect Star Wars and its limited edition Xbox 360 console bundle are going to miss their previously announced launch window.
"Microsoft and LucasArts have elected to move the launch of Kinect Star Wars beyond holiday 2011 to ensure the full potential of this title is realized," a LucasArts representative said. "This move applies to both the Kinect Star Wars stand-alone game and the Kinect Star Wars Limited Edition Console. We will communicate additional timing information at a later date."
Originally announced at the 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo, Kinect Star Wars is set primarily during the time of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, with overlapping bits of the other prequel trilogy films and nods to the original Star Wars trilogy as well. Players will take orders from Yoda, cleave their way through armies of battle droids, and use Kinect-enabled Force powers to battle the Dark Side.
The game's hardware bundle will include a 320GB Xbox 360 console with an R2-D2 theme, a metallic C-3PO controller, a white Kinect sensor, and a copy of the game for $450. For comparison, the current 250GB Xbox 360 Kinect bundle with Kinect Adventures sells for $400.
