Adult-game company announces open-source drivers have paved the way for a touchy-feely Windows 7 sex game using the Xbox 360's motion-controlling sensor.
"I guess it was only a matter of time." That's how adult-game maker ThriXXX sums up its latest project, a sex game that uses the Xbox 360's motion-sensing camera to let users fondle virtual females.
Viewable via a risque YouTube video, a demonstration of the game--still in its early stages--shows a user controlling the onscreen action with just his hand. The control scheme was set up by attaching a Kinect to a Windows 7 computer with an open-source Kinect driver installed. Similar drivers have been used for more scientific pursuits using Kinect.
"The Kinect interface provides another exciting interface option for users of the sex simulation software to control the experience in extraordinary new ways," ThriXXX said in a statement provided to GameSpot sister site CNET. "Controller free is the next generation of game user interfaces, allowing users to use gestures, spoken commands, or objects to control in-game action that creates a completely new sex game activity and magical experience."
According to the YouTube page, ThriXXX is "currently in development of adult-themed Kinect games for the Microsoft Xbox 360 and or PC." How such a game could ever come to the Xbox 360 is unclear, as Microsoft does not allow Adults Only-rated games to be distributed on its console.
In a statement, Microsoft said the following: "This isn't the first example of a technology being used in ways not intended by its manufacturer, and it won't be the last. Microsoft did not authorize or license its technology for this use and will take appropriate action against violations of its intellectual property. Xbox is a family-friendly games and entertainment console and does not allow Adults Only (AO) content to be certified for use on its platform and would not condone this type of game for Kinect."
......................or, you could go to a bar, or for those who struggle with woman, pay a hooker lol
Come on guys there IS a difference between gore and porn. Gore is just something to add on to games and shows. We dont care about it because its not real. But porn has proven to be more addictive then drugs and it has been proven to change peoples mentalitys (however you spell it) and thats why its considered worse than gore. Of course no one will agree because im posting this on the internet with the people who make porn so popular.
All right a sex game!!! XD I don't think that's gonna happen though, at least not on the xbox 360 since games have to go through some kind of content verification of some kind or whatever, on PC it is totally posible to see it, since programers can do just about anything, and users download just about everything the developers make. Bottom line, would be a good idea, a sex game, but having actual sex is a much better idea XD
It's not really a 'sex game'. In the video the guy is just touching her the whole time lol. I wonder what the achievements are going to be lol.
Did they just claim Xbox to be "a family-friendly games and entertainment console?" Someone tell me how a game related solely to sex and pornography would be any worse or less family oriented in comparison to the massive number of titles already filled with adult language, sexual themes, and extreme forms of violence and gore. Hell, have they even checked the latest Mortal Kombat trailers? (Some of the stuff in that trailer looked so over-the-top that even I found myself slightly disturbed) In the end, I don't think I'll ever understand why the issue has been regarded as forbidden territory to Microsoft when they already cater to so many other forms of extreme adult entertainment. Then again, I don't think I'll ever understand the purpose behind the AO rating in the first place. Because according to the esrb, the average 17 year old in the US is finally deemed "mature". However they'll need another 365 days before they've become mature enough to handle the 18+ year old content. -_-
We all knew this was gonna happen. When I saw the "Milo" demo I instantly thought about passing him bottles of beer and condoms for a laugh
Wheres the gamespot page? I want one for Rapelay too. You can't just discriminate against certain games because you disagree with their content.
"Xbox is a family-friendly games and entertainment console..." Hey, Marcus Fenix, what's your opinion on that quote?
i have an idea for something like this but more real 3d. with actual people and controllers shaped like body parts. even a full body controller. XD
@ Muteki_X Actually, I'm an American, born and raised in the U.S.A. and I am well within my right to criticize my own country, which I love even though I'm not too crazy about some of the people in charge. I just think it's ridiculous how the human body is such a sensitive subject and women are required by law in most of America's states to cover their breasts in places where men can go bare-chested and not even get a second glance. Sure, it's not as bad as some other nations (parts of the Middle East, for example), but it is pretty silly.
yeah this would be NICE for all the Kids on the XboX and when i say Kids i Include all of U commentors below and above that are below 18 cuz U Are Nothing but KIDS SonnyBoy!
I was always proud of game industry because unlike movie industry there were no pornographic products in it. and I only hope this thing don't go any further. thanks to Microsoft for making necessary actions to put an stop to this.
@ JixHedgehog Yeah, that does sound familiar. How about Leisure Suit Larry? There's a "family-friendy" game on xbox.
So, Microsoft, it's ok for people all around the world to hack Kinect and do all sorts of stuff with it, but if some of this "stuff" is sex-related, you suddenly want to "take appropriate action" ? apples and oranges, huh ?
Lol its funny watching teens talk about how sad and pathetic things like this are . When you hit 40 and all the lovely ladys you knew become fat monsters including your ugly wife ,innovations like this bring a smile to your face . interpret that how you want
HOLY COW!!!! How much of a nerdy loser are you that you have to be THAT desperate for female companionship that you would stoop to THIS? Be a man! No,cross that,be a HUMAN!This is downright primatively animalistic!
@ Barighm I don't. I think when they put nipples on the Batman suit, they should've put them on the Batgirl suit as well. You know, just to keep things equal and all. ;)
I think the interviews regarding Age of Conan put it best: "Americans have some weird problem with nipples." The nipples, oh, the nipples...
BTW, I apologize to all my German, Japanese, and Chinese friends out there; I'm not trying to offend you, just wanted to make a point.
@ Rottenwood Using the logic that a whole country is to blame for what a company located within it does, I came to the following startling revelations: all Germans love being defecated on, all Japanese love tons of bush, and all Chinese want to poison little children. That's a fair criticism, right?
@ Rottenwood Ok, so because some Americans feel that way, then logically all Americans must have that view. I guess the U.S. is the ONLY country which has that double-standard. I've never heard of ANY OTHER country to do such a thing. So it must be all America's fault, and by association any resident of that country must be to blame as well. Let's not isolate the problem to the rule-makers, those with strong PR positions, or just those who see sex as taboo; let's just be safe and blame the whole bunch. Because we all know that the majority is always listened to in America and always gets their way. I don't think I've heard of any controversial decisions the government and rule makers have made which upset the majority of Americans, especially not lately. I guess you really do have a valid argument.
@Muteki_X In fairness, there's a legitimate criticism of the U.S. lurking here. Microsoft, with a straight face, cites the 360 as a 'family-friendly console' that forbids Adults-Only entertainment, yet the console features games containing gore, realistic violence, carjacking, and the random killing of civilians for your own amusement. It also has games like Bayonetta and Dead Or Alive which utilize sexuality as a selling point but are deemed okay because they stop just short of proper nudity. This is endemic of American culture, where nudity and sex - healthy adult activities that enrich our psyches and lives, and, you know, keep our species alive - are inexplicably taboo, but headshots are fine and get off with a warning sticker.
@ BlueFlameBat The US shook off Britain's rule and Canada got stuck with the frozen wasteland; get over it. Your obvious prejudice of America is pathetic. I won't even begin to list your country's embarrassments out of respect for your fellow countrymen whom I and many in the US consider friends. It's bigots like you who promote rifts and deal serious blows to harmonious living with your "us-versus-them" mentality.
seriously I never understand what the big deal over controversial games is, simply if you don't like it, then don't buy it, its not like they are gonna be putting this on the shelves of walmart or anything
Okay. So, its sex. What is wrong with sex? Its that fact that the American audiances are so uptight about sex and pronography that we cannot see past the thin line between smut and entertainment. Pornography is a booming industry, and giving it the opprotunity to expand to video game consoles is a good idea. Both in terms of economic reasons and the fact that its 2010. Geez, its 2011!!! Sex isn't bad. Any person over the age 15 has by all means seen a naked person of the opposite sex, its just a fact of life. I am a 20 year old male, and I can admit that I like pornography and naked women. Sorry, is that shocking? Really? If it shocked you, I'm sorry, truly. Get over the whole sex inplications. Its a great idea, and a good use of a crappy peice of techonolgy that has your canoeing down a river, or popping ballons.
