Hmm exclusive hardcore games in 2011, gears 3 and fable 3. Microsoft have forgotten who's been buying their products for 5 years. MGS Rising is still on PS3 too. I bet the tech for kinect will be sold to other companies if it fails to sell
Kinect heading to UK November 10
Motion peripheral to hit stores across Europe six days after stateside launch.
Motion-sensing peripheral Kinect will launch in the UK on November 10, following the US release on November 4, Microsoft announced today. This follows recent confirmation of its £129 ($202) UK price point; Microsoft also recently confirmed that it would be available for $149 in the US. A bundle containing the new 4GB Xbox 360 and Kinect will sell for £249 ($390) in the UK. The 4GB Kinect bundle will retail for $300 in the US.
The release date is timed perfectly to coincide with the Christmas shopping rush. However, Sony's own motion-control system Move will be launching earlier on September 17, giving it something of a head start. It will also be priced lower, with the Move starter pack costing £50, though additional controllers will cost £34.99, with a sub-controller also retailing separately. Kinect pricing has been an issue for some retailers, with ShopTo’s CEO Igor Cipolletta calling it "too high," citing "very low" preorders on the retailer's site.
Microsoft has been pushing Kinect extensively since it was unveiled as Project Natal at the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo. A range of titles have been announced for the system, including kart racer Kinect Joy Ride, minigame collection Kinect Sports, and virtual pet game Kinectimals. More is expected to be revealed on those titles and more at this year’s GamesCom in Cologne. Head over to our GamesCom hub for more.
