Newest addition to PlayStation Collection series hitting PS3 Oct. 23 for $40; includes Killzone, Killzone 2, and Killzone 3 with DLC.
The rumor was right. The latest addition to the PlayStation Collection series will be the Killzone Trilogy, launching in the United States October 23 for the PlayStation 3 at $40. It will arrive in Europe October 24 at €49.99.
The compilation pack includes the original Killzone, updated with a 720p high-definition makeover, as well as trophy support. In addition, the Killzone Trilogy includes the PS3 games Killzone 2 and KIllzone 3. Further, all multiplayer map packs for Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 will be included with the Killzone Trilogy.
Picking up the Killzone Trilogy will not be the only way to grab a high-definition version of the original Killzone. A tweet from the official Killzone Twitter account reveals that Killzone HD will also be released as a stand-alone game. Further details, like a release date or price, were not mentioned.
I have to admit I love all the HD collections Sony has out of great PS2 games. This however I am not going to pick up as I own KZ2 and 3 and the original already. I definitely will download the original in HD though as it looks like garbage on PS2 now I mean it won't look great, but it will definitely look a lot better.
I loved the first Killzone, all the weapons sounded so beasty, with the HD remake can you play multiplayer?
Had this included Liberation I would already have it pre-ordered. As it stands I'll be skipping it. May get the first game on its own though.
Erm...excuse me? Why are we in Europe paying $20 more? (when converted)
When the price drops to a more reasonable level, I may yet consider picking this up. I already have Killzone for my PS2 and Killzone 2 for my PS3, but the PS2 version looks like ass and it's a good a way as any to get hold of Killzone 3.
about time. I'll pick this up since I traded in my copy of KZ3 some time ago. But I dont really want to pay more than $30 for it tho.Anyway, do the same for Resistance and I'll surely pick that up too.
Loving that these collections are being put out, even if some people think it's just a repackaging cash in. I actually wish this was done more in the past cause it was really hard to find older games when the PS2 was near the end of its cycle unless you managed to find a used copy. But I prefer to buy my games new, and this would also save some space in my cupboard (1 case vs 3).
Is Sony running out of creative ideas? alot of PS3 series remakes of the same game than they talk about Nintendo remaking the same game.
I got ripped off with the stupid voucher on the Infamous collection. They say it's all on the disc ???????? I would buy a Motorstorm collection if they actually add new content on THE DISC. That means DLC
Great deal for those who happen to not have any of the games and are interested in them. I'm hoping the original Killzone is fairly priced as I havn't played that and might as well if it's an HD remake.
I have not played any killzone game so I am going to buy this trilogy when it comes out because I want to try these games out for the first time.
I wish they all had move support. As I hate to admit to it. But surprisingly I enjoy using the sharpshooter >.>
the first one sucks balls! i didnt like it... but maybe they'll fix a couple of the problems it had on this one
Article author: ask if the original Killzone is on a disc and awesome, or a stupid voucher for jerks.
Welp, looks like my social life will be all but eradicated with all these collections.
Time to stock up on Arnold Palmer Southern Style Pink lemonade Iced Tea and other assorted food and drink.
Meh. $30 would've been a much better price point. I don't know that I'd place more than a few dollars value on the original Killzone, while 2 and 3 can be had for $20 (or less) apiece. Just not much of a savings. I mean, it's still a good deal for anyone who hasn't bought any of the games but, ideally, these bundles should be priced at a point where even people who already own one or even two of the included games feels tempted to pick it up, and either sell or give away (like, to a friend who can then join them in multiplayer) their extra copy.
Still, I'm glad to see Sony releasing these collections. I hope they keep coming.
Good. I have to get a notebook for all these collections I must buy: Let's see: God of War Saga, Infamous Collection, Final Fantasy collection, and now Killzone
Sweet! I want the stand alone Killzone. I've so wanted an updated Killzone. I love the first one for the most part, it had some really nasty bugs, but it didn't bug me. Ha ha, get it. Ohhh, that's a good one... No? I guess not. I also recommend anyone that hasn't played them yet to get this, they're all great for the most part. I like the characters, story, and even the atmosphere better in the original, but the sequels have fine atmosphere's as well, great action, and really nice graphics. Three seems kind of weird, like it's a great game, but it's easily buried under other great games that came out that same time.
63 Dollars in Europe? That's over 50% more expensive.
I'm not an internet rager or anything, but jeez that's messed up.
@Joeguy00 economy is a little different there. just because it translates into 63 bucks here, you have to take into account expenses and cost of living. just like here a house you buy in CA that costs 1 mil goes for about 200k here in the south.
It's still 63 dollars... how much people spend on other things has no bearing what so ever on the fact it costs 50% more to buy it in Europe.
I still don't see what relevance anything else costs, or what value a Dollar has in a particular place. The price in Europe for a game barely changes from country, it's just the tax that's different. If a game costs 50 euro in Europe at launch, it always costs about 60 Dollars in America.
I could really care less about the finer points of a currencies value on a larger scale of items or cost of living. We always pay about the same for games at least at launch as you chaps. And now we are paying far more. Are you honestly saying you'd be even the slightest bit okay with paying 50% more than us when you've know the prices for years and know you usually get it for equal or cheaper than us?
@Joeguy00 thats correct that is how exchange rates work. but the value of a dollar varies per region. value depends on cost of living. like i was giving an example of with the CA vs south housing prices. You can bring 50k to the south and live easier than you can on the west coast. does that change the dollar amount? no but the value of that dollar is still a variable that is not written on paper. thats where the term "stretch your dollar" comes in to play. you can take a dollar anywhere in the us and what you can do with that dollar will depend on where you are. 100 dollars here may exchange to 100 dollars there as well but that doesnt mean that same 100 dollars will retain the same value as it does here.
Do you understand currency exchange and that at currency exchange our currency not our actually owrth, just the currency is exchanged at a different rate to Dollars.
It's 40 dollars but 50 euro. That in itself makes perfect sense. And Things in America are often the exact same price in Dollar as they are in Euros. So charging more in a more valuable currency is unnecessary and gouging.
But if you are happy to accept a different price for Regions. You could pay about 95 dollars for the game. That's 50% more than us btw.
The value of the Euro is only relative to dollars. If we have 100 Euros in our pocket that means we have about 125 Dollars. So charging more Euros than Dollars means we get screwed.
@Joeguy00 riigghhtt..............but 63 dollars over there may not have the same impact as 63 dollars here. expensive is a loose term. What's expensive to one may not be to another. Also cost of production and distribution is going to be different there. Prices overseas are always different than here. You can't judge the price of an American product to that of a European. A dollar here may translate to 1.50 over there. It may have a higher price tag, but that doesn't mean it costs more.
